Chapter 6

It had been 2 weeks to the Mahi fiasco. Nothing major took place on that day after Mahi and she went home which was quite unexpected. Mahi didn't complain against her to either her father or mother which shocked Zoya. Zoya was mentally prepared for all the beating and harsh words she was going to get but nothing happened. She thanked her Allah that day for saving her. She thought that maybe Mahi has now understood that she was her sister afterall. But from that day onwards Zoya started keeping distance from Aditya. She used to talk with Pooja and Yash but when Aditya wasn't around. She didn't sit with them during the free hours on in the class as Aditya used to be there with them. She didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable due to her. She has seen how he mostly kept quite when she used to sit with them. She thought maybe she was making him uncomfortable & she didn't wanted to ruin his friendship with Pooja and Yash due to her. Pooja and Yash already told her that they are friends since early teenage. What she didn't know was that Aditya was all quite when she was around to listen to her talks.

"Adi clear one thing today. Why are you so awkward with Zoya? You know whenever you are around she doesn't come and sit with us." Pooja said frowning at him.
"I am not awkward around her. If you guys want, you can go to her." Aditya said looking at his lap.
"See! This attitude of yours! Huh You are insensitive Adi." Pooja said looking at him.
"Yeah! I am insensitive. Go to your Zoya and don't talk to me ever again." Saying this Aditya stood up and went from there while Pooja also stood up, muttered a "fine" and went from there in opposite direction. Yash looked to and fro from Pooja to Aditya thinking where to go. When he saw that Pooja went to Zoya, he stood up and went behind Aditya.
"Adi Listen! " Yash ran up to him.
"What? You also want to talk about how insensitive and rude I am? " Aditya asked rudely.
"Adi broooooo! Chill. You know na Pooja. She loves Zoya alot. Acha leave all this. Tell me one thing, how did you know that Mahi was telling lie about all that happened in her previous college and how did you get that recording?" Yash asked with puppy eyes.
"Look at Zoya. She is so innocent. She cannot even say a bad word to a non living thing then how can she misbehave with the professors." Aditya said like it was the most obvious thing and was clearly visible to everyone and Yash was a fool to even ask it.
"Great! And that recording?" Yash asked smiling.
"You remember when Mahi came up to us to introduce herself?" Aditya asked.
"Yeah! I remember. I also remember how we all ignored her except Zoya." Yash chuckled remembering that incident.
"She mentioned her college name too. That is when I remembered that my one employee's mother works in that college so I asked my employee for a little favour. Zoya was very much loved and an obedient student of that college so professors agreed to give a video recording for her." Aditya shrugged his shoulders looking at Yash.
"Acha One last question please!" Yash said requesting.
"Go ahead! " Aditya said.
"Why did you do all this? If there was some other girl in place of Zoya, would you have done the same?" Asked Yash looking at Aditya & smirking.
"I don't know. Now you are also irritating me. Leave!" Aditya said looking at the other side.
"Adi Bro! I am not going anywhere without my answer." Yash said smiling.
"Okay! I will tell Pooja that you love her." Aditya smirked looking at Yash.
"Wow now you will blackmail me? Great Aditya Hooda." Yash said frowning while Aditya smiled.
"Let's go and eat something. I am hungry." Aditya said laughing and they both went to cafeteria.
Pooja and Zoya were sitting in the playground area and talking about random things.
"Zoya Can I ask you one thing?" Pooja looked at her.
"You can ask me anything without taking permission Pooja." Zoya said smiling at her.
"Why don't you come and join us when Aditya is around? Do you guys had a fight or something?" Pooja asked.
"No! We didn't had any fight. I just feel he is not comfortable when I am around. He doesn't talk much when I am sitting with you all." Zoya said.
"It's nothing like that. Adi likes to be silent you know but yeah he talks too much but since you guys are not that good friends so he becomes silent sometimes. He doesn't open up easily in front of new people. Look we are the two only friends of his since last 7-8 years & you are a new addition now so maybe that's why but eventually he will be same with you as he is with us."Pooja reasoned.
"Actually I am the same. I never thought someone like him might be an introvert. But I seriously don't want him to be uncomfortable with you guys because of me. Whenever he will be fine with me coming with you all then I will come. But promise me Pooja you won't ask him to call me or tell him anything that I told you now." Zoya said looking at her seriously.
" Yeah okay Promise. You both are same I swear." Pooja chuckled and they both went towards their class. Meanwhile Yash and Aditya were standing two steps behind them and heard all their conversation. They had come to call search for Pooja and they spotted her with Zoya. When they neared them, they heard them talking about the matter and stood silently listening to whatever Zoya said.
"She is so caring." Yash remarked looking at Aditya and then went behind them leaving a smitten Aditya behind.
Aditya was truly smitten by her words. How can someone be so selfless and caring. Aditya remembered how he has always behaved rudely with her and never left a single chance to show her that he was not interested in talking to her and here she was still caring about his comfort. He realised she was really very sweet and he felt guilty for behaving like a jerk in front of her. He looked at his side to see Yash was already gone. He also went to his class thinking about everything that happened.
