A/N sorry for the short chapters
I walked up the steps into the front doors of the school. I couldn't believe I somehow got past Bella and Jenna unnoticed but anyway I was glad I did.
As soon as I walked into the building I went strait to Mel's locker. Why wasn't she here? I rushed to her home room to see if someone knew where she was and as soon as I saw the sorry faces of students I knew something was wrong.
"Where Melanie?" I ask anxiously. A blonde girl with a bright blue shirt stands up giving me a sorry smile. "Our parents are family friends and I guess she's in the hospital, she fainted last night and didn't wake up and they found a um a brain tumor" she said whispering the last part.
My mouth dropped open and a almost silent sob fell from my mouth. Brain tumor, brain tumors are fine you can get them out no problem but brain tumors with cancer your screwed. That's it.
I turned around and ran down the hallway to the bathroom letting all of my tears slip down my face.
I pressed my back against the wall crying heavily. I had to be there. I had too.
I knew skipping school two days in a row was a very bad idea but none the less I had to be there for her.
I recklessly ran down the hallway not checking my back to make sure there weren't teachers which was clearly a bad idea when I was yelled at to get to class.
Great.
She said she would give me a warning and watched me walk all the way down the hallway.
This will be the longest day of my life.
