Chapter 30

Louis’s POV

I growled and kicked the stair, resulting in a chain of curse words.

“What’s the matter with you two?” Liam asked once I entered the living room again.

“She totally insulted our music!” I pointed to the stairs and they all furrowed their brows.

“And?”

“And? And what?”

“Louis.” Niall sighed “What is it really about?”

I let out a sigh and sat down next to Zayn, running my hands over my face before looking up.

“Simon want’s Emma to starts doing some interviews, photo shoots, ect.”

“So?” Zayn asked

“So, I don’t I know.” I mumbled “I guess, I just want more for her.”

Harry laughed “How much more? Being famous is as much as it gets.” He laughed.

“She just, I don’t want her to deal with the hate and fame.”

“What does she want?” Liam asked

“She wants to go for it; she says it’s her dream.” I rolled my eyes.

“Wasn’t it your dream to be a singer?”

“Yeah?”

“So, if you got to follow her dream, why shouldn’t she be allowed to follow hers?” Zayn asked, staring at me intently.

I rubbed my hands over my face. “Should I go apologize?”

They all nodded and I groaned before standing to my feet and walking slowly up the staircase.

I raised my fist to knock on her door but stopped when I heard the sound of her speaking.

‘Yeah, he just doesn’t understand. It isn’t far. I know, I know. Okay, I’ll see you Monday then. I love you too Jared, okay bye.”

Love you too, Jared? Nuh, uh, not on my watch she doesn’t.

I ran back downstairs and into the living room, blocking the boys’ view of the TV.

“Ey!” Niall yelled

“Emma’s bot a boyfriend.” I let out in one breath. They all stood there, their mouths agape.

“So?” Emma asked, appearing in the doorway. “I knew you would find out sooner or later, but I didn’t know you would all be stunned to silence.” She said, folding her arms over her chest.

“We aren’t, uh, stunned to silence love.” Liam smiled “We just, we would like to meet the lad.” He nodded, all eyes focused on him.

“Let’s say, dinner Monday night?”

“Don’t you think that’s a little short notice? It’s Sunday.”

“Well, if he loves you so much then he’ll drop any plans he’s got to meet your father, er, and uncles.” I stumbled over my words, trying to figure out exactly what relationship the boys and Emma had.

Emma let out a sigh before pulling her phone from her back pocket.

“Fine.”

She spun around on her heel to leave but I stopped her.

“Hey, Emma.” She spun around again.

“I’m sorry; I had no right to yell at you about you disliking our music. That’s your own opinion. It may be wrong but I can’t force you to be right.”   I said, and she rolled her eyes. “But, I am sorry. And I’m sorry for not wanting to let you follow your dreams. If this is what you want to do, then I’ll let you do it.”

A small smile appeared on her lips.

“Thanks Lou.”
