Chapter 53
Emma’s POV
I had been here for a month now, I had been doing a lot more interviews and photo shoots too, which was great, but made it a little harder to hide the scars on my arms and the depression that had yet to fully go away. I was managing it, but that was all I was doing.
I rolled over in the bed, reaching my arms out for Luke, only to feel that he wasn’t there, and the bed was cold, meaning he’d been up for a while. I rolled over again to face my clock but regretted it instantly.
I jumped from the bed and made my way to the toilet, emptying my guts into the bowl.
I pulled my phone from the side-table and sent a text to Michael.
Emma- “Never, ever, going to have an eating competition with you again. Especially with all greasy foods.”
Michael- “I know, I’m paying for it this morning.”
I smiled to myself, enjoying the fact that I wasn’t the only one who was suffering. I stood, but quickly fell back to my knees as my innards become my outards once more.
“You okay?” Luke asked, suddenly appearing in the door way. He wore a worried expression, as he grabbed a washcloth from the cabinet and wet it with cold water, before pressing it to my forehead.
“Yeah.” I said, trying not to nod, afraid if I moved too much I’d vomit again. “It’s all the greasy good I ate last night. Michael’s sick too.”
Luke rolled his eyes. “I honestly don’t even feel sorry for either of you.” He laughed “I warned you, but you two didn’t listen at all. Makes you rethink that, huh? I’m smarter than I look ya know.” He boasted. I rolled my eyes and stood up from my spot on the cold tile, the feeling suddenly passing.
“I’m good now.” I said slowly, as if waiting for my stomach to prove me wrong. When it didn’t though, I brushed my teeth and heading down the staircase, my fingers intertwined with Luke’s.
“Hungry?” He asked, leading me to the kitchen.
“Well, I did just throw up a weeks’ worth of food, so yes.” I nodded.
“TMI, girlfriend.” He said, snapping his fingers in the shape of a ‘Z’.He opened the fridge and I sat down on the barstool, my stomach feeling slightly off again.
“Hey.” He said suddenly, sniffing the inside of a container. “Do you think this is still good?” He asked, handing me the bowl. I took a sniff and stood to my feet quickly, running back to the bathroom.
“Okay, so I take it that it’s not any good?” Luke asked as he lifted my hair from my back.
He rubbed circles on my back and I let my head rest against the wall.
“Want me to run to the store and get you some Pepto or something?” He asked.
“That would be really, really nice.” I whispered.
He leaned down and kissed my forehead before walking silently out of the bathroom.
“I’ll be back in a little bit, don’t move!” he yelled from the door.
“Copy that.”
