Metroid: Extinction

The Seal.

The natives of SR388 were perplexed as this figure in armour sped past and with a shinespark launched itself through a wall nearly bringing down part of the cave in the process. After all, why follow a path when you can knock down any wall?  Samus made her way deeper in the cave with great haste, hoping to be done with all of this as soon as possible.   Shooting several hornotoads and bats she unforgivably cleared everything out of her way and found herself back in another part of the ruins as natural rock gave way to brick.  This part of the ruins was wide and open with much more sunlight gleaming through the roof.  The ruins here made the cave much higher and wider with tunnels snaking in all directions. Shattered rocks covered a lot of the ground and the moist atmosphere contained faint traces of some purplish substance being carried along the air. She followed it down one of the tunnels where it seemed to be most heavily coming from.  An Alpha metroid suddenly dived from above , catching her by surprise it's bite dented the back of her helmet making her lose focus as she fell forward onto the ground and her varia suit deactivated which exposed her to the slightly toxic air. She desperately tried to reactivate the suit but her weak breath and her panic made it disappear as soon as it came back. The alpha metroid paralysed her with one of its orbs and she could have sworn it danced in the air as it slowly made its way to its new prey. She closed her eyes and slowed her breathing down while putting her concentration on imagining the varia suit around her.  The varia suit materialised right as the alpha came at her again . This time she fired a charged ice shot and its sack was frozen which seemed to cause visible distress to the creature. One missile later and the sack was blown open and the now hollow interior and outer remains of the carcass dropped to the ground immediately. 

"This is why I hate these things "

The tunnel had now expanded into an average sized cave covered in a purple mist . The ground was completely black and all around between the various holes in the ground. A purple liquid ran . In the center of the cave surrounded by a lake of the purple substance a round device stood with a raised platform infront of it.

"Origin and nature of purple substance unknown. The device nearby is of chozo origin and seemingly can only be interacted with by someone with chozo dna"

Samus jumped across the lake and stood on the raised platform which lowered onto the same level as the ground as she placed her hand on the device. A ripple traveled across the surface and the sides cracked open as several poles extended on each side. There was a rumbling and then the purple liquid was suddenly being drained out of the area allowing access to whatever was hidden below. The purple liquid drained completely.  Peering over the edge she saw that the lower section descended exceptionally far and that many rocks of varying sizes littered the world below. She jumped off the edge above and rapidly descended into the unknown.
