Y/n pov

The weekend was over and you felt in a great mood.
You went outside and found on the Slytherin noticeboard that there was a new order form the High Inquisitor of Hogwarts herself Professor Umbitch, saying that all groups, clubs, teams everything had to be disbanded, even the Quidditch teams had to go to her for permission to play. You knew that Umbridge had to have heard about what went on at the pub and you went to find Hermione.

"Hermione did you see the notice!? You asked her growing worried she told you no one who signed the paper could've snitched because if they did, they'd be jinxed and it'd be very noticeable. You nodded an upon entering the great hall, you split up knowing how it would look. You sat and ate breakfast.

You met up with Harry, Hermione and Ron on their way to potions. Harry filled you in on the fact that Hedwig had just ben attacked and was carrying a letter from snuffles aka Sirius.

"Looks like I'll be staying in the Gryffindor common room again." You said with a smile letting Harry know you'd be there. When you walked up further you saw a group of Slytherins and smelt trouble.

"Yeah I know, Umbridge gave the Slytherin quidditch team permission to play right away, I went to her first thing this morning, it was pretty automatic, I mean she knows my father pretty well, he's always popping in and out of the Ministry." Draco said simply. "I just wonder how other houses will fare." D

Harry and Ron looked annoyed.

"He's not wrong, you two." You said. Making sure Harry and Ron didn't move.

"He's being a git." Ron said making you hit him playfully.

"He's not insulting you, just let him be." You said. You hadn't noticed Draco had heard your defense of him.

"Today we will be continuing the Strengthening solution. Make sure to read the Instructions clearly." Snape said making a jab at Potter.

You listened to Umbridge and Snape's conversation.

"Well this class seems very advanced for their level." Umbridge said looking over your shoulder. "Though I question whether it is advisable to teach them a potion like the strengthening solution. I think the ministry would prefer it be removed from the syllabus." Snape slowly straightened up and faced her. He was towering over her you felt a smile on your lips, he didn't take criticism well. "Now how long have you been working at this post?"

"Fourteen years." He told her. You could hear it in his voice, he hated her.

"You applied first for the defense against the Dark Arts post, I believe?" She asked him. It was common knowledge that he wanted the DADA job forever.

"Yes." Snape said quietly.

"But you were unsuccessful?" Umbridge asked in her annoying high pitched voice.

"Obviously." Snape said his lip curling.

"And you applied for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post regularly since you first joined with the school?" She asked.

"Yes." Snape said quietly.

"Do you have any idea why Dumbledore constantly refused to appoint you?" Her questions seemed pointless.

"I suggest you ask him." Snape said sounding more monotone than normal.

"Oh, I shall," Professor Umbridge, with a sweet smile.

"I suppose this is relevant?"

"Oh, yes," said Professor Umbridge. "yes the ministry wants a thorough understanding of teachers – er – backgrounds." When Umbridge said that your heart skipped a beat. The ministry knows he was a Death Eater... he wouldn't loose his job because of that right? You felt Snapes eyes on your back as you had been nervously tapping your hand on the desk before quickly stopping.
