Chapter thirty seven - Dumbledores Army

Y/n pov

You were in Charms with Harry, Ron and Hermione.

"Umbridge had to be reading your mail it's the only explanation." Hermione said in the explanation that Hedwig had been attacked.

"You think Umbridge attacked Hedwig?" Harry muttered.

"I'm almost certain of it." Hermione said. With talking to them you had learned that Harry had been talked to by Filch about dungbombs, Hermione explained that if Filch had gotten to Harry sooner then he'd have an excuse to look through his mail and / or confiscate his mail.

"So you think Umbridge is making Filch do her dirty work?" Harry purposed.

"Exactly." Hermione then added. "It was a very close call last night. I wonder if Umbridge knows how close."

You went about your day waiting for Harry to tell you if he ever found a place for the defense group. You didn't even know if you'd be a good teacher, you just needed to play off of Harry.

You were walking when Peter grabbed your shoulder and you looked at him as if to say 'hi.' The twins were with him.

"Y/n did ya hear?" George asked.

"Hear what?" You giggled.

"Harry found a place, Cho just told me." Peter said and you jumped up.

"Really!?"  You asked your smile growing wide.

"Yeah."

"That's great!" You stopped walking in a hallway excitedly.

"I know!" The twins high fived.

You were all laughing and having a good time until t he Slytherin quidditch team along with Blaise and Parkinson came out to play. You knew exactly how to grind Montague's gears and you wanted to show him how little he meant to you.

"Petei'mgoingtokissyoui'msosorryinadvance." You said quickly and quietly before pushing Peter into the wall and kissing him harshly. You kissed him and felt his ands rest nervously on your waist. When you parted you glanced and saw Montague sneering and his fist clenched, he was red in the face and clearly mad, but you also saw Malfoy looking confused and disappointed. You smirked as they walked away without another word and then looked at Peter.

"What was that?" He asked breathless, you glanced at the twins who's mouths were agape and you just stepped away from Peter and rubbed the back of your neck nervously.

"I'm so sorry, it's just I needed to kiss someone to show Montague I wasn't interested and Fred is having that thing with Angelina-"

"There's no thing." He growled making you smile.

"Uh huh... and I have no clue about George so it left you and I'm so sorry." You said feeling a bit guilty.

"Uh... don't apologize it was fine... just lets try to avoid that.? Peter smiled. "Besides I'm all good with making Montague mad but I know you don't want Draco to think me and you are together."

"He's didn't defend me in front of Montague.? You said darkly.

"But it's him you want." Peter said making you bush.

"... I don't think he will want me anymore." You said thinking about Pansy being so close to him. And you being a bit closed off after your near kiss.

"Based on your past with him he'll be in love for a while. Even if I don't like him." Peter comforted.

"Yeah well it'll come with time." You smiled.
