The car ride was short and relaxed. We all just listened to music and talked the entire ride. When we finally pulled up outside the club, we shuffled one by one out of the car and made our way inside. Caden and his fake I.D. got in without a second glance. When we got inside, the music was so loud it vibrated my insides, and I was pretty sure the music could be heard in China. "Who wants a drink?" Jake asked. We all decided to take a shot of whatever Tom wanted since it was his birthday. We made our way over to the bar and when the bartender eventually came over to us, Tom ordered eight shots of Fireball. We were handed our drinks just moments later and I handed them out. "On three?" Tom looked around at us. We all shook our heads yes and Tom counted to three before we all downed our shots in one swig. The alcohol burned as it went down my throat, but it tasted like cinnamon and the burn quickly faded. "Whoa. That's good." Barclay said as he set his glass down on the bar. "Can we get another round?" Barclay leaned over the bar and yelled to the bartender. Four shots later and I could already feel the alcohol effecting me. I couldn't think as fast and my body movements were slower too. I should drink some water before I become completely incapacitated. "Wanna dance?" Someone whispered in my ear. I turned and noticed some stranger standing entirely too close for my liking. "I'm good. Thank you though." I smiled politely and looked around for one of the boys to rescue me. We all went our separate ways a few minutes ago. Me, to the bathroom and the boys, somewhere else in the club. I thought I seen Casey on the dance floor but I wasn't sure. "Well then let me at least buy you a drink." The stranger persisted. "Oh, no thank you. I'm actually here with someone." I said, hoping he would get the hint and leave. "Oh yeah? Who?" He asked. If I say I'm here with my band mates he'll continue to bug me. "I'm here—" "she's here with me." Someone interrupted. I turned and seen James standing just a foot away. I smiled and turned to face the stranger, who was smug just a few seconds ago, but now looked embarrassed. "My bad dude. I didn't know she had a boyfriend." The guy apologized. James walked up next to me and stared at the guy. "Well she does." He said sternly, trying his best to sound intimidating. The stranger left in a hurry and James and I both laughed once he was too far away to hear us. "Thanks. I was afraid I'd have to pretend to go deaf." I joked. James laughed and grabbed my hand and lead me to the dance floor. I followed him until we were in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by a bunch of sweaty people. Just then, a slow-ish song came on and James placed his hands on my hips, and I wrapped my hands around his neck as we swayed slowly to the song. He slowly bent down and rested his forehead against mine and stared right into my eyes. "You're so beautiful." He whispered, so the people around us couldn't hear. "And you're a liar." I whispered through my smile. The corner of his mouth pulled up slightly before he shook his head. "I mean it Aria." He pulled me closer. We stared at each other for a few seconds before I replied. "You scare me." I whispered back. "What? Why?" He pulled back to look at me. "Well, I don't mean you specifically. It's just...the way you make me feel. I don't know what to think." I admitted. He smiled down at me. Not a cocky smile, but a genuine, caring smile. "How do you feel about me?" He asked me. "I..." I didn't know what to say. He's the only person who has ever made me feel this way. Every time I see him I instantly feel happy and safe, and whenever I think about him I get butterflies. I just want to be around him 24/7. He's my favorite person, other than Caden. But I feel completely different about James than I do about Caden. Obviously. "I don't know what I feel. I just know that I need you. I honestly can't picture my life without you." And it's true. I don't know what I would do without James. Or any of the boys for that matter. They are a part of my life and they always will be. "You have no idea how relieved I am to hear you say that. I've known that I need you in my life since our first conversation at Tom's house our first weekend as a group. I'm not pressuring you or anything. If you decide you want to only be friends, that's fine. I just need you." He told me. My entire body erupted in goose bumps at his words and I couldn't help but smile. "Well I can assure you, I definitely don't want to be just friends." I smiled. "Good to know." He winked, and his cocky stature was back. I chuckled and we continued to dance for the rest of the night, just enjoying getting to be close to each other.
