RIVER sighed as he moved down the staircase of the Salvatore house, Stefan and Damon by his side.

"Isobel just  showed up at their front doorstep" Stefan spoke.

"What's she doing here?" River asked.

"I don't know" Stefan replied "That's what I'm gonna go find out"

"I don't think that you should tell her that I'm here" Katherine appeared.

"What?" Stefan asked "Why?"

"It's better if she and John not know that I stayed in town after I got out of the tomb" Katherine declared.

"You're the one in cahoots with them" Damon scoffed "You made a deal with John that almost got me killed'

"I did what I had to get out of the tomb" Katherine stated "Now I'm reconsidering my alliance"

"What do you know?" Stefan paused.

"I know that I wan't Klaus dead" Katherine answered "Which puts me squarely on team you, besides, if you two want me to swap places with Elena again the less people know that I'm here, the better"

Stefan and Damon exchanged a glance with River.

"Think about it, Stefan" Katherine smirked "Come on, be smart"

"Tell you what, why don't you call Alaric and let him know that his wife just showed up on his girlfriend's doorstep" River suggested to Damon.

River stepped through the door to the Martin household, Damon following.

"Yep" Damon spoke as he stepped through the threshold "Everybody's dead"

"We should pack up the grimoires" Bonnie directed "They spent years collecting them, I want to make sure they're safe"

Damon took one look at Luke's charred corpse on the ground.

"You know, we could just get another match and cremate him" Damon smirked.

A small smirk rose on River's lips but disappeared when Bonnie told Damon off.

"Don't be disrespectful" Bonnie scolded "Not to him"

"Fine" Damon conceded "I'll bury him"

"What exactly are we looking for?" Jeremy asked.

"According to Luka's dad, one of these contains a spell that'll let Bonnie and I harness the energy that's left behind when a witch dies violently" River spoke.

"I didn't know you guys and father witch were so close" Damon raised an eyebrow.

"I told River" Bonnie replied "When he gave me my powers back, he gave me a message, if I can find the spot in town, where the old Salem witches were burned, I can harness their energy to use when I need it"

"Great" Damon said "We'll have to put that on our list of things to do today, harness ancient dead-witch power"

"You know where the witches were burned?" Bonnie asked.
