RIVER tossed and turned in his bed, his body filling with a familiar energy as images rushed through his head.
River was stood before the old witch house. He moved through the house, feeling the fear run through the witch spirits inhabiting the house, feeling them fighting his presence, trying to drive him out, their spells bouncing off of him.
He continued through the house, coming to the basement, seeing it empty, as usual, but he could feel it, he could feel their energies. He knelt down, placing a hand on the floor and closing his eyes.
River took a deep breath and felt it begin. A red glow radiated from his palm, the magic currently being performed by the witch spirits being absorbed. He could hear them again, their voices, but they were no longer whispers. He heard their screams from when they burnt, he heard their cries as he absorbed their power.
A smirk grew on River's face as his power built again, his eyes opening suddenly. Instead of being their usual earthy brown, they glowed gold, a bright amber, and they gazed intently on the four coffins that were in front of him.
River sat up quickly, gasping for air as he awoke from his dream, his body aching as the energy inside dissipated. He turned, seeing Caroline groaning as she awoke, turning over to glare at River.
"Please tell me that you had some witchy vision and you didn't just wake me up with all your tossing and turning for no reason?" Caroline huffed.
"Witchy vision" River panted "Definitely a witchy vision"
Caroline sat up, placing a calming hand on River's back.
-
River moved through Caroline's house, whining as she prepared to leave.
"I wanna sleep" River groaned "My body hurts"
"Have they ever been that surreal before?" Caroline wondered.
"No" River sighed "I've not been having the visions during the day for that long, and now instead of just making me tired they're literally hurting my body"
They moved into the living room, seeing Tyler sitting on the couch, standing as he saw them.
"What the hell are you doing here?" River spoke angrily, moving in front of his friend.
"I came to apologise" Tyler informed.
"Apologise?! You bit me!" Caroline exclaimed "I could've died, I think we're way past apologies, Tyler"
"That's the problem!" Tyler spoke "Klaus told me to do it and I said no, and then...just happened anyway, like, it was completely out of my control"
Caroline scoffed, River sighing.
"That's why I had your mom call him" Tyler sighed.
The floorboards creaked as Bill Forbes moved into the room, River still standing before Caroline.
"Daddy?" Caroline murmured.
"Hi, Caroline" Bill greeted.
"I thought, since he can resist compulsion, maybe he could teach me to resist the sire bond" Tyler thought.
