RIVER glared up at his old friend, he was currently tied up, his hands bound behind his back, duct tape secured over his mouth, a concoction that he irritatingly recognised flowed through his veins, preventing his magic from working, preventing his body from absorbing any.

Alaric was stood a few feet away, smirking at him as he spoke with Damon, the cellphone revealing the vampire's voice.

"Where've you been?" Damon questioned "I've been calling you all day"

"Yeah, sorry about that" Alaric spoke "I just needed to get my head together"

"So I take it Rebekah got the stake?" Damon asked.

"I don't know, I woke up alone" Alaric lied "There's no sign of it"

"Lovely" Damon sighed "What now?"

"Well I think I need to get out of town, somewhere secluded" Alaric answered "I keep blacking out which means I'm still a threat to everyone"

"I don't know if right now is the best time for you to be going on a spirit quest, Ric" Damon advised "Besides, River's gone awol so we're down a witch"

"River's missing?" Alaric smirked, a fake town of worry in his voice.

"Yeah, Rebekah said that he peeled off before the rest of you even got to the cave" Damon said.

Alright, well, it's just for a couple of days, I'm stocked up on Bonnie's herbs, so I should be fine" Alaric sighed "I gotta go, let me know if you anything about Riv"

Alaric hung up the phone, smirking as River glared at him from across the room.

"Quite the cunning liar" Esther spoke, moving into the room, still inhabiting Rebekah's body.

"Well Damon is too arrogant to think his only friend would betray him" Alaric grinned.

"Just as Niklaus would blindly accept an invitation from his beloved sister, unaware that he is heading to his own death" Esther spoke turning to look at River.

The witch struggled, angrily trying to free himself, Esther's words angering him.

"Did you give him the stake?" Alaric asked, watching as Esther dipped a silver dagger into a small amount of white ash.

"He burned it without hesitation" Esther informed.

"So where's the real one?" Alaric questioned.

"You'll get it when it can no longer be used against me in this body" Esther answered.

The Original witch opened the coffin resting by the wall, revealing her own body.

"So how do you..." Alaric trailed off.

"How do I return to my true form?" Esther confirmed "With a little magic and some help from a vampire hunter"

Esther handed the silver dagger to Alaric, the human stabbing it through her heart. Rebekah's body fell to the floor, unconscious. It was silent for a few moments before Esther gasped, sitting up in her own body.
