RIVER sat at the edge of Damon's bed, his eyes fixed upon the screen, the news reporter speaking of the death of his friend. Damon was close by, pulling the newspaper clipping from his closet door, finished with his mission to find his brother.
"Whether suicide, or a tragic accident, WPKW News has lost one of its shining stars" The reporter spoke "Field reporter and weekend anchor Andie Star was discovered..."
River turned the volume down as Elena entered the room, the doppelgänger immediately laying her eyes upon Damon.
"Just can't stay away, can you?" Damon ignored the girl.
"You've been dodging my calls" Elena stated.
"Yeah, well, busy dating a dead fake girlfriend and all" Damon replied sarcastically.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Elena sighed.
"Happy Birthday, Elena" Damon began "Stefan killed Andie, cake?"
"He called me, Damon" Elena spoke.
"What?" River's attention was taken.
"Stefan called me last night" Elena clarified.
"Well, what'd he say?" River asked.
He didn't say anything, but it was him" Elena declared "I asked Sheriff Forbes if she would trace the call's origin, it came from Tennessee"
"Where he's binge drinking on the country folk" River murmured quietly, receiving a harsh glare from the human.
"We went through this, Elena" Damon added "Stefan's gone, I don't mean geographically"
Damon moved towards the fireplace, throwing the newspaper clippings into it.
"If he was gone, he wouldn't have called" Elena argued.
Damon turned to River, gesturing towards the fireplace, River sighed, retrieving his lighter from his pocket, throwing it to the vampire.

River smirked as Elena screamed, the doppelgänger's body flying through the air, landing in the water. He turned to Damon, high giving the vampire with a grin as Elena came back to the surface.
"Damon! River!" Elena shouted "How are you even here?"
"Thanks for the tip" River turned to Alaric, before glaring at Elena.
"You sold me out!" Elena accused.
"You think I'd take you to a mountain range of werewolves on a full moon without backup?" Alaric scoffed.
"Get out of the water, Elena" Damon instructed.
"If I get out of the water, you're gonna make me go home" Elena claimed.
"Yes" River confirmed "Because we're not idiots like you"
"Right now, you're both acting like idiots" Alaric added.
