RIVER watched warily as Alexander unloaded weapons from Connor's trailer, Matt stood atop of a weight-sensitive explosive.

"A hidden compartment filled with advanced weaponry" Alexander spoke in awe "Man has evolved from his days of throwing stones"

"There is nothing we can do for you Alexander" Rebekah spoke "Please, let us go"

"I'm not holding you here" Alexander stated "Although, I have a feeling that exploding contraption will have a hard time parting with your handsome friend intact"

"Just go, Rebekah, River" Matt spoke "I'll be fine"

"Shut up" River shushed "We're not leaving you"

"The soldier, Connor, found a way to siphon venom from a werewolf" Alexander grinned at the jar of werewolf venom.

"What do you want from us?" River wondered.

"To fulfil my destiny" Alexander answered "The brotherhood of hunters was created for one reason, and one reason alone"

River closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.

Rebekah and River stood close by Matt, trying to figure out a way to get Matt from the caravan.

"Go ahead, sweet Rebekah" Alexander suggested "Use your vampire powers to whisk him away, I'm sure you can survive the blast of six of these...automobiles, can he?"

"Just ignore him, all right?" Matt said "Let's think about something else, like graduation, what are your plans – college? Travel? Just because I'm never getting out of this town doesn't mean you shouldn't see the world"

"It's just been settled" Rebekah looked up "I'm gonna show you life as you've only dreamt it, we'll start in Italy, there's a lovely little church outside San Vittore in Brienno.

"Romantic spot" Alexander nodded "Popular for weddings"

"And then I'll show you the Northern Lights in the springtime, the Simatai Gorge from atop the Great Wall of China, every inch of the Louvre" Rebekah smiled.

"China, Paris, the Northern Lights...It's a date" Matt nodded "What about you, Riv? You coming with?"

"I'm going home, Matty" River sighed "It's about time I grew up but you and Beks go, see it all when we're done here because you can, you're alive, we're not gonna be stuck as ghosts in misery on the Other Side"

Alexander stood angrily.

"All right, you're done now" He threw a dagger towards Matt.

Rebekah moved to catch it, barely grabbing it but knocking Matt. The boy teetered on the bomb, River straightening him out, bracing against him.

"I've got you" River sighed.

Matt laughed nervously.

-

Alexander circled the vampires, Rebekah having joined River to keep Matt braced.
