( Germany's POV)
"I'm going on a day trip. Touch anything and you're dead."
Reich walked out without saying anything more to his son. Germany just watched him go. It's not like there was anything he could do about it. Besides, he basically had all day to do and go wherever he wanted. Unfortunately, the rain outside kept him from being able to take a walk anywhere. Germany both loved and hated rainy days. He loved them for how calm and gentle the rain was, but hated how empty it made him feel. The thunder really scared him, so much that he would actually cry.
Germany looked around his room for something to do. He laid eyes on a slip of paper on his nightstand. It was Russia's number. He had given it to him after the dance the previous night. Germany grabbed his phone and the paper and went downstairs. He sat down on the couch. It was rather large considering only 2 people ever used it. Germany could lay down and would still have enough space for 2 more people close to his size-or 1 larger country. Picking up his phone, Germany texted Russia.
G: Hey!
R: Who dis?
G: It's Germany
R: Oh, hey! How's it going?
G: All right. Hbu?
R: Same
Suddenly, thunder boomed from outside. Germany nearly dropped his phone in fright. He never understood why thunder was so scary to him; he felt like such a baby. Shaking, Germany continued to text Russia.
G: Are you busy rn?
R: Lol no. Why?
G: ...Can you come over?
R: Sure. Are you okay?
G: I'm scared of the storm..
R: Awww
R: Okay, I'll be over in a bit.
G: Kk
Germany got up and straightened out the room. He dusted a few things off, vacuumed the floor, and cleaned up in the kitchen. He honestly couldn't remember the last time he had friends over. He cleaned the house all the time, but only because his father would invite his friends over and get drunk.
After the living room and kitchen were cleaned up, Germany sat back down on the couch. It thundered again, and he yelped in terror. Germany grabbed a pillow off the couch and buried his face in it. Russia wouldn't get until who knows when. Germany needed him.
To try and distract himself from the storm, Germany watched random videos on YouTube. When he got bored of that, he ran upstairs and grabbed his sketchpad and a pencil. He began to draw what he thought the lake looked like today. He added the swan, still floating along in the water. It made him wonder if the swan missed him. When he finished the sketch, he grabbed his colored pencils and colored everything in. He couldn't get the rain to look right, so he settled on simple, white dashes.
It thundered again, but louder this time. Germany grabbed a pillow and cried into it. He was beginning to wonder where Russia was.
Luckily, it wasn't long before someone knocked on the door. Germany opened the door to see Russia. He had brought a blanket with him, which, somehow, was still dry.
"Hi, Russland!" Germany said, letting him inside.
"Hey Ger!" Russia replied. He had set down the blanket on the couch and was walking back over to Germany. Germany hugged Russia. Thunder cracked outside, and Germany nuzzled his face into Russia's chest. He felt himself being picked up. Russia carried Germany over to the couch and set him down. Germany hugged Russia before getting up and going to the kitchen. He got out 2 packages of hot cocoa mix. He heated up some milk on the stove and made hot cocoa for him and Russia. He brought the drinks on a tray and set them down on a coffee table in front of them.
The thunder only seemed to get louder. It roared outside the house. Germany could feel tears welling up in his eyes. Russia pulled him into his lap and hugged him. Germany blushed a little and reached for his hand. He held Russia's hand for a little bit, and it made him feel safer. He grabbed the remote with his free hand and turned on a random cartoon. The storm was almost too much for Germany. Lightning flashed outside, and the thunder cracked right after it. Germany pressed his face into Russia's chest and held onto his shirt. He, despite his efforts, cried. He felt fingers running through his hair. He looked up at Russia through a blur of tears.
" It's okay, I know. You're gonna be fine, okay? I'm here," He said to him comfortingly.
Germany felt Russia rubbing his back. He began to relax a little bit. He was engulfed by Russia's blanket, which he had wrapped around both himself and Germany. Germany wrapped his arms around Russia. Russia kissed him on the forehead and continued to rub his back. They sat there, cuddling each other. Germany sat up and rested his head on Russia's shoulder. He planted a gentle kiss on Russia's cheek. Russia kissed him on his cheek and nuzzled his neck. Germany purred slightly, and Russia giggled softly. Germany grabbed the hot chocolate cups off the table and passed one to Russia. They drank their cocoa and watched old, nostalgic cartoons together.
Germany noticed that Russia had gone from rubbing his back to rubbing his stomach. He leaned back to make it more comfortable. Russia snuck his hand up Germany's pajama shirt and rubbed his actual skin.
" That hand better not go anywhere else, sir!" Germany said playfully.
"I know, dangit!" Russia replied, giving Germany a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"You missed."
"What do you mean?" Russia said in slight confusion. Germany just laughed and gave him a peck on the lips.
Russia smiled and kissed Germany. Germany sat up again and kissed him back. They kissed several times, each time slightly longer than the previous.
" You should come over to my place some time," Russia said after they were done.
" Yeah, totally! I owe you one anyway."
" What do you mean?"
" I made you come all the way over here because I'm a scaredy cat who doesn't like the storm."
Russia chuckle at this.
" You don't owe me anything. I'd always be willing to come over and spend time with you, rain or shine."
Germany smiled and kissed Russia's cheek. He laid back on Russia's chest and sighed deeply. Russia removed his hand from Germany's shirt and gently rubbed his cheek.
" Love you, scaredy-cat," he said.
" Love you too."
The couch vibrated for a second. Russia pulled out his phone and talked to who he assumed was his Dad.
"I gotta head home, Ger. The lights went out, and apparently we can't find any flashlights. My dad doesn't know how to use a phone very well, though, so he can't turn on the flashlight that's already there."
Germany laughed.
" Haha! Your dad is a total boomer."
" Yeah, I know! Text me, okay?"
"Okay! Wait, don't you want your blanket?"
"Keep it with you. Bring it when you come over."
"Okay!"
Germany gave Russia a quick kiss before he left. He stayed on the couch for a while longer. The storm was much calmer now.
( Hope you all enjoyed this chapter! It came out just a little late because I fell asleep on the couch in my living room and couldn't stay awake to finish it. I will make art for this one in a little while, so be on the lookout for it!)
