~Chapter 6: What does he have that I don't?~

Chaewon's P.O.V

Who would reject someone like Hyejoo? She's one of the funniest people I have met but at the same time, she will protect you no matter what. Shit, I'm having those gay thoughts again. No Chaewon snap out of it, you love Jaemin and only Jaemin, not Hyejoo who probably doesn't have feelings for me.

I grabbed my music book and headed upstairs, Hyejoo sitting in her seat already looking better than before. Of course,e I sat next to her, comforting her and constantly checking her up, reassuring that she was ok.

'Hey, class... SHUT UP! We have a new assignment' Mrs. JinSol said happily, giving off a smirk, obviously wanting to make our lives harder.

The whole class all groaned even me, I turn around to see Hyejoo not giving off any expressions at all. 'She's just tired' I thought to myself before listening to Mrs. JinSol again.

'For this assignment, you have to be in partners, you two have to try and compose and create your own music with you own lyrics. You all have 2 weeks to finish. After that, you have to present your work to the class, like it or not. Am I clear?' We all nodded in agreement. There is already someone in my mind

'Hyejoo, wanna be my partner?' Why was Hyejoo starting to look as if she was panicking? Is she really ok?

'Oh, sure but the thing is I don't know how to sing. I mean I can but it's shit so can you sing it for me?' I agreed, not wanting to put any more pressure on Hyejoo. The last time I've sung in front of people was for my family 3 years ago. The rest was just humming along to the songs. 

Wait, I don't even know what I'm doing. I took a peek of what Hyejoo was doing and she's writing something on a piece of paper. First I thought she didn't even care about this shitty assignment but I took a closer look and it was lyrics, she's writing our song. 

'I saw that my predictions were right, he took off the ring that you gave him and linked his arms around someone else' What the actual fuck is she writing? Good, but weird

'Oh, sorry I've done this assignment before in my old school and I'm trying to remember the lyrics. If you want you could write your own song if you like' The lyrics were really interesting, sad but good so I decided to go with the flow and work with it.

'I think it's really good, we can really use those sick lyrics for our assignment don't you think?'

'Sounds good. Is it ok if you can come to my house? I wanna find the song while it's still fresh in my head. I just wanna get this over and done with. Besides, I have a shit tonne of assignments to do' She mumbles, avoiding eye contact with me.

'Yeah sure'

We walked to Hyejoo's house in silence. I can't find anything entertaining and interesting to say except the fact that I'm with Jaemin but I know that it would instantly make her angry. I focused on Hyejoo for a bit, the music playing in her ear. She started to hum to the song them...

'Pictures I'm living through for now

I stood there in disbelief, Hyejoo can sing? And it's really good.

'I didn't know you can sing that well?' I said while taking out her earphones. Her face instantly heating up, unable to think of anything to say

'W-well, hehe' She said cutely. 

'Now that you can sing, we should do a duet.' I asked, trying to be as polite and nice as possible. Hoping that she would accept my offer.

'I don't see why not' We continued to walk in silence for the remained of the time.

We entered her room, and it's small. Very small, but I'm not here to judge. She opened her gaming computer and started her mission for the search for that song.

'So, what am I supposed to do?' I asked, looking at the small but comfy room, inhaling the sweet smell of perfume.

'Just read through the lyrics if you want. I'm still trying to find the song. I'll be very quick promise.'

She went through her bad and gave me the lyrics to the song. That xx, interesting... I read through the lyrics and its dope as fuck. But it's actual so depressing.

'AHH! FOUND IT!, Chaewon come here and listen.' She said excitedly. We listened to the song together, I'm drawn into Hyejoo's deep and mysterious voice as she sings. It's soothing and it captivated me.

Our rehearsal went very well, better than I expected. Hyejoo decided to walk me home despite the amount of homework we had. It was just a 10-minute walk from here but I agreed because I wanted to have some company. We discussed the many ways we could improve on the song, although I thought it's perfect as it is. We stopped at my house. I waved goodbye to the wold before walking in the house.
