Right now, I have this perfect image of you in my head— where it's you and me against the world.
I can't help but think of how amazing it would've been if I had met you in another world and in another time. Because only then, will I be able to freely and sincerely love you without any worries or fears.
But, this is the world we're living in right now. And in this world, the image that is you and I was simply digitally altered. In the lost original photo, it wasn't me that was standing beside you. I was only edited in over the actual person, a mere replacement until that missing photo would someday be retrieved.
As each day passed, we got closer and closer to salvaging the first and unedited photo. Until the day came that the lost original photo was found.
And it was ironically me who brought it back and set things right again.

"You came." The timid girl drummed her fingers softly on the coffee mug to release some of the nervousness coursing through her body. "I didn't think you'd accept my invite for breakfast."
"You asked. I couldn't say no," Ayla replied, a soft smile adorning her pale face as she stared back at Hyerin from across the table.
Earlier that morning, Ayla had received an unknown message claiming to be Lim Hyerin and asking if she could meet with her to have a late morning breakfast at this indicated restaurant. Ayla had no idea how Hyerin managed to obtain her phone number, but she must have had a good reason to go through such lengths just to get in contact with her. Because of this, Ayla knew she had to accept her request to find out what exactly was her purpose of approaching her.
"I just. . ." Hyerin trailed off, her gaze wandering everywhere except into Ayla's eyes. "I just wanted to apologize to you."
Ayla tilted her head in confusion. "What are you sorry for? I don't remember you doing anything to anger me in any way."
This time, Hyerin snapped her stare to Ayla's and it was then that Ayla noticed how her eyes had been glossed over with tears. Tiredness painted over Hyerin's entire face, her eyes red-rimmed and nose flushed as if she had been doing nothing but weep to her heart's content in the past few days. Ayla wouldn't be surprised if that was the case since she had just recently suffered from a great loss.
"Guilt has been eating me up and every time I close my eyes at night, you come into my mind and how terrible I've been to you," Hyerin explained, but Ayla still felt puzzled on why Hyerin would feel this way towards her. "I'm sorry for keeping Jimin to myself and taking up all of his time when I know I shouldn't because he has you. It's not fair to him and it's certainly not fair to you, especially since I'm nothing but a part of his past."
