I didn't realize how mysterious and complicated love was until I experienced it myself.
Love isn't easy and steady all of the time. It's not always butterflies, flowers, sunshine, sunsets, and everything beautiful the world has to offer. Sometimes, it's thunderstorms, darkness, heights, voids, and everything unpleasant that engulfs the world.
But, love makes us act and do things that aren't normal occurrences for us. When you watch someone who's in love, you're left in awe at the lengths they would go through for the person they are in love with. Yet, you wonder why some people still end up being hurt after all of that?
Well, because nothing in this world is fair.
There are people you expect to stay in your life for a long time, but they were actually only meant to pass by and stop for a short time. And just when you thought that the stars have lined up and the universe is on your side, a sudden downpour occurs and washes everything away.
You can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the concept of love, but you also can't help but cry at the same time when you recognize that the pain it brings to you can't simply be smeared with ointment and patched up with a band-aid.
Love will simply remain a mystery, a puzzle that's difficult to solve because the pieces you are given do not fit together.
But for someone who loves to love, I don't care much for understanding the complexity of it all.
All I know is that love makes us wake up early in the morning to prepare someone's breakfast and lunch bag, even if we're not a morning person. I know that love will make us move across the world for someone, even if we despise significant life changes that makes us feel uneasy and insecure. I know that love will make us pose for photos for someone, even if we prefer to be behind the camera and be the one to capture special moments, instead. And most importantly, I know that love makes us better and stronger people, even if we believe we are far from it.
Those are evidences that prove humans are, in fact, capable of doing something beautiful, astonishing, and optimistic.
