Love is so complicated and challenging.

But I mean, it wouldn't be real if it wasn't.

There are people who are together, but not in love, and then there are those who are in love, but aren't together. This is because of so many factors that play into their relationship.

Life just likes to screw us over, doesn't it?

It likes to see how far we're willing to go for people we love, how much we're willing to gamble to have things go our way, and what our reactions are to the rewards it gives us in the end.

But sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in life. It allows us to give every opportunity a chance and to leave no room for regrets.

That's why I'm not afraid to take risks.

Because it's only when I dive in that I then realize the jump wasn't as big as I thought it was.

"Why are you late?" Jungkook hissed to his best friend, sliding his bag on the floor that was previously used to save the seat beside his.

Jeon Jungkook had been Ayla's best, and only, friend since the start of university. Despite only knowing each other for two years, the pair had grown amazingly close to consider each other as not just best friends, but as family.

With the young man's soft, raven locks, his friendly Bambi eyes, his endearing bunny smile, his perfectly chiseled jaws, and his Herculean physique, it was no surprise Ayla was enticed by the said man at first glance. However, she was never attracted to him in a romantic way.

"I'm not late," Ayla defended herself, taking a seat and grabbing her books from her backpack to place on the table in front of her.

"Fine," Jungkook huffed. "Late-r than usual."

Ayla turned towards her best friend before flirtatiously batting her eyelashes and flipping her naturally straight hair over her shoulder. "Beauty takes time, Kookie," she stated as a matter-of-factly.

"I don't even see any beauty in you," the unimpressed boy remarked.

Ayla scoffed, turning away from him. "Well, I don't see any beauty in your attitude."
