My full name is Natalie Eaton named after my mums, mum everyone calls me Nat. my parents are Beatrice and Tobias Eaton but my mum gets called Tris and my dad gets called four, don't ask I have no idea.

Yesterday I had my aptitude test to find out which faction I belonged in, only it didn't work in me I got three results which Is impossible, well almost, but now I'm scared really scared I'm scared that someone will find out but I'm also scared about which faction to chose today do I chose amity and become kind, abnegation and become selfless or dauntless and be brave and stay with my family. I don't know. my parents said I would be safe in any of them but I could tell they didn't want me to leave. I got knocked out my daydream by the door knocking and my best friend James shouting

" Hey Nat, are you coming or what"

I scramble to open the door and see James stood there a stupid grin on his face. he's called jay for short. he has dark brown hair that is fairly long and has a wave to it and dark brown eyes I find quite stunning they just stand out to me. he has quite a handsome face and is taller than me. Christina and Will are stood behind him.

"Are you ready to decide your fate" he says in a melodramatic tone

"Am I" I say faking a smile

"Mum, dad come on we are going" I yell down the hall. they walk down the hall and greet Christina and Will

"Hi" he says Grinning to my parents

"Hello jay, hope you aren't to nervous for today" Says my dad

"Nah I no where I belong" He say and grab jay and walk outside, as I walk out I see my mum laugh

 the train ride consisted of jay cracking jokes the whole way there but it was uneventful.

when we get there we sit in our factions in the choosing ceremony and then people's names start to get called out and I start to get really nervous. what am I going to do the test didn't tell me I start shaking and my dad sees and puts an arm around me and whispers

"We love you, no matter what. but in another faction I wouldn't be able to beat up all the boys that come after you" I laugh at this because I told my mum and dad I was divergent as soon as I got home. it makes me feel better. i start to go over everything in my head and suddenly it all clicks into place. I realise I know where I belong.

When my name is called out I walk up to the bowls and cut my hand and for a moment it hovers over amity than abnegation and stays there for a bit. And then i hear it the unmistakeable sound of blood hitting hot black coals. I turn to look at my parents but they are not there. then before I know it I have jumped onto a train and am say side my side with jay.

"This should be exciting, Alex told me that they make us jump of a roof" Alex is jays big brother he's like 18 now.

"Get ready to jump" someone yelled

I stood up And looked out the train car people were jumping onto a roof. it looked fun. me and jay did a jump and tumble together it looked pretty cool. i look around to see transfers stumbling and getting up off their knees

then I see my dad stood on top of a ledge and shouting at us to gather round.

"My name is four i will be a initiation instructor"

That's why I didn't see them after I chose he had to go early to get ready

"This" he says looking down "is how you will get into dauntless headquarters" there is silence
