Chapter 24 (Zak)

Zak's heart pounded hard and fast in his chest. He had never imagined something like this happening, after his ex from three years ago died he was heartbroken. He didn't want to lose Farren too.

Tears started to run down his face in desperate attempts to Bring Farren back, he stopped giving CPR and opened her mouth a little, he crashed his mouth to hers and he blew. Farren gasped and he quickly released her as she coughed out water. After her coughing fit she sat up and brought her knees to her chest, trying to cover herself, Zak quickly took off his shirt and handed it to her, she quickly put it on.

 "Are you Alright?" Zak asked her, she looked at him, her bottom lip quivered and she wrapped her arms around his waist and clung, he felt her bury her face in his neck as she sobbed. He rocked back and forth in an attempt to calm her down.

 They sat there in silence for awhile before she pulled away, "I'm keeping your shirt." she said, Zak chuckled "Alright." he stood up and held out his hand for her, she grabbed it and he pulled her up, "Thank you." She whispered, Zak gave her a small smile, he watched her as she walked out.

 Zak frowned as he scrolled through Instagram, he sighed as he came across a photo of Zak and his ex, the top comment on this came from Farren's account, 'What are you trying to do by posting this? It's almost three years old.'  "Zak?" he looked up, Farren's mother stood in front of him, "you need something?" he asked, Thaila sat down and sighed, "Do you happen to know why Farren seems so distant lately?" 

 Zak looked up at Thaila, "Ya perhaps because she just found out her brother hates her." He replied dryly, he watched her face as it went from concern to shock, "hate?" she asked weakly, Zak narrowed his eyes at her, "maybe if you pay more attention you'd notice." he snapped, she opened her mouth to say something but closed it again, he face turned a bright red as she grew angry, "Don't tell me how to raise my kids." she said sharply, she  got up and walked away.

 Zak groaned and threw his phone on the table in front of him, the Melissa girl had just posted a short video clip of him and her together. a song called Girlfriend  sung by Avril Lavigne was playing as the pictures flashed by on the screen, he rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hand, "Zak?" A small voice asked, he removed his hands and blinked as his eyes watered up, he rubbed the liquid off and wiped his hand on his pants.

 "Farren." he said, he quickly reached over and shut his phone off, she followed his movement, she frowned but didn't say anything on the subject, "Mom says were leaving, she found a small apartment for us to stay in." she said quietly, "Aren't those things only big enough for two?" he asked, she nodded, "well then you stay here." Zak said, he stood up and she immediately walked over and hugged him.

 Lately whenever Farren was upset about something she had made it a habit to hug him or hold his hand, "that's the thing, My mom has made it clear I'm to go with, I've already tried to change her mind and let me stay here but since I'm still technically living with her I don't have much of a say." She said, "How long until schools out?" he asked, "If it's anything like the school at home then next week." Farren replied.

 "well then hang in there, after you graduate you'll be able to move in with me." Zak whispered in her ear, she nodded against his chest, "Is it ok if I leave my stuff here and only pack what I'll need?" Farren asked as she pulled away and looked up at him, her arms still wrapped around his waist, he smiled at her, "Of course." she smiled and stood on her tip toes and gave him a quick kiss, "Imma go get ready, I think mom wants to leave today." Zak nodded  

    "Farren." Zak asked as he knocked on her bedroom door, she turned around, seems she finished packing, she just had a suitcase packed, "I leave for another investigation on the seventh." he said, she sighed but nodded, "alright, where to?" she asked, "New York." he replied, her face lite up, "I'd love to go there!" she exclaimed and Zak laughed, "Maybe I'll take you there for your late birthday present." he replied, she grinned and shut her suitcase.

Sorry for the late update, I seem to go through Fazes, One minute I want to write, then I get to lazy to for the next two, three months, I haven't worked on this particular story since may lol, I'll try to work on it more often but I can't guarantee a update very often.
