Chapter 10(Farren)

"That was fun, thank you Zak." Farren said as they walked up to Farren's door, it was late and Farren had spent the day with Zak after school. "No problem" he replied, it went silent for a minute "When are you leaving?" Farren asked, breaking the silence. "Tomorrow night." Zak replied, Farren chewed her bottom lip as she argued with herself, she wanted to skip school to spend more time with him.

She finally came to a decision, "So since tomorrow is a Friday do you think instead of me going to school I could hang with you?" She asked nervously and she looked up at him hopeful.

He smiled "I would say yes but would your mother?" He asked, Farren Blushed and looked at the ground, "I can ask her and I'll text you." she replied peeking up at him, he nodded "that'll work, but if she says no don't argue with her." Farren nodded excitedly, "Ok, I'll ask her tonight and then I'll text you." she really hoped her mom said yes.

Farren gave Zak a quick hug and surprised him with a kiss on his cheek and she went inside. Farren walked into the kitchen to find her mother standing next to the counter looking at a piece of paper, she looked upset, "Mother?" Farren asked, sliding in next to her, her mother turned and quickly hid the paper behind her back.

Farren frowned, "Mom what's wrong?" she asked with concern, her mother smiled "Nothing sweetie." her mother replied and tried to give her a hug, "Mom somethings up, what is it?" Thaila sighed and brought the paper out and showed her, she read it and gasped "they're kicking us out?" she asked, thaila nodded, "why?" Farren asked and her mother shook her head, "I don't know, I've kept up on the payments."

"This is bullshit." Farren growled, her mother glared at her "Farren your language." Farren sighed "Sorry, anyway I wanted to ask you something." she hesitated not knowing how her mother would react or what she'd say. "What is it dear?" Her mother asked facing her again, "well...Zak and the crew are leaving tomorrow night." she said.

"I thought they already left?" Thaila asked, "they did but I saw Zak and the crew today, I guess they had to come back and grab something." Farren replied sitting on the counter, "Let me guess, you were with the crew all day today." her mother asked with a sigh, "I was with Zak, anyway back to the question, could I skip school to spend time with them tomorrow?" her mother turned sharply "You want to skip school to spend time with boys?" Thaila asked slowly and Farren nodded.

Farren sat in silence as she waited for her mother to reply, she chewed her lip hopeful. The silence was finally broken when her brother walked in, "Where's the.." he stopped when he saw the two standing in the kitchen, he looked at them both in confusion, "Is something wrong?" He asked, "No" Farren said immediately, her mother gave her a grateful look. "Then why are you two so tense?" He asked, Farren shrugged "waiting for her to answer a question." And she gave him a pointed look, "Ahhh right." and he turned and left.

Farren turned back to her mother, "so? Can I" she asked, her mother sighed "what about your homework?" she asked, "I'll have Clark grab it for me and I'll get it done the day after tomorrow or after I get home tomorrow night." she replied, her mother stood there before sighing, "Fine but you have to get it done tomorrow night." her mother said, Farren hopped off the counter and gave her mother a hug, "Thank you mom!" She squealed and ran up to her room.

She reached her room and plugged her phone into the charger and turned it on, She opened her text messages and clicked on Clark's number,

Farren: you up?

She sent it then waited for a reply.

About five minutes later her phone dinged and she looked at it

Clark: yes

Farren: Good, I won't be at school tomorrow, do you think you could get whatever homework I might have?

Clark: Sure, but why aren't you going to school?

Farren: I have Plans. That's all I'm telling you tonight, I need to text Zak.

Clark: Oh? You skipping school to hang with him?

Farren: yes, now I have to go bye.

She exited out of Clark's number and Clicked on Zak's, she sent him a quick text letting him know she asked her mom and she put her phone down and laid on her bed and closed her eyes.

Farren woke up to her phone going off, she looked at it, Zak was Calling, She checked to see what time it was, one thirty in the morning she must have accidentally fallen asleep . She wondered what he could be calling about, she picked it up. "Hello?" she asked, "hey did I wake you?" He asked as she giggled, "I ain't answering that." she replied, she heard him groan on the other end "I'm sorry I can call back later if you want to go back to sleep." and she shook her head, "No, your fine, anyway my mom says I can skip school, I just need to get my homework done after I get back." She told him, "that's great." He replied, she could hear the smile in his voice, she laughed.

"I'll pick you up at nine?" he asked, Farren nodded " that works, I'll be ready." she said, "good now get some sleep, I have tomorrow planned out." Zak said and Farren Laughed "Alright, goodnight."she answered "Night" and he hung up, she ended the call as her mother walked in.

"Who were you talking to?" her mother asked sleepily, "Zak" Farren answered, her mother gave her a strange look, "At one O'Clock in the morning?" she asked and Farren Laughed "He's a night owl." she said laughing and Thaila rolled her eyes and sat on the bed, "Don't you think he's a bit old for you?" Thaila asked and Farren stared at her.

"What do you mean?" Farren asked blinking at her mother, her mother sighed and looked at her, "You were with him all day, Is there something you want to tell me?" Farren shook her head "Mom, We're just friends." Farren replied, rolling her eyes. Thaila sighed, "You'll tell me if something does?" and Farren nodded and  her mother left and she went back to sleep.
