Steve and Natasha step inside the elevator first followed by Tony and I while I try to ignore the terrible sinking feeling in my chest. This doesn't feel right. Natasha holds her phone over the button pad, using the fancy spy tech in it to reveal the exact pattern the buttons were pressed in with a small hologram projection. She presses the buttons and activates the elevator starting it down.

My eyes drift up as we descend and the walls seem to close in more and more. This could be a horrible trap we are walking right into.

The old machine stops with a jolt and the doors creak open to reveal a large room filled with rows and rows of old looking computers and in the center a large desk with several square monitors. Everything is covered in a very visible layer of dust.

Hesitantly Steve and Nat step out then Tony and then me, my eyes darting around nervously. By coming down here we have back ourselves into a corner with no quick escape.

My soulmates gravitate towards the desk and all the monitors but I linger behind them, scanning over the rows of data holding machines. Some are labeled with different dates, names, and what must be code names for specific operations. Slowly I walk past each row, coming closer to where my soulmates examine the central most computers.

"This can't be the data-point, this technology is ancient," Natasha remarks and I nod in agreement but my eyes don't stop looking around.

Glancing back to her I watch as her gaze catches on a small, modern, and clean flash drive port that stands out like a sore thumb amongst the old dusty tech. Eerily enough I find a label clear of dust on a computer clear of dust as well right beside the monitors.

This place is not totally abandoned and someone has been here to make modifications recently.

Natasha places the drive in the port and it instantly activated the ancient computers in the room. They start whirring and a single monitor lights up on the desk.

"Initiate system?" a mechanized voice asks.

"Y-E-S, spells yes," Natasha recites as she types on the keyboard. She smiles as the retro tech starts to crank up and quotes, "Shall we play a game?" Her tone sends shivers down my spine and she looks back to Steve to explain figuring he didn't get the reference.  "It's from a movie that-"

"Yeah, I saw it," Steve tells her and I don't have the heart to admit I'm the one who hasn't seen it.

Suddenly an accented voice starts speaking.

"Rogers, Steven. Born, 1918. Romanoff, Natalia Alianovna. Born, 1984. Hollden, Allison. Born 1994. Stark, Anthony. Born 1970."

My body goes rigid as do my soulmates when we realize it can see us. There is a camera moving above them and analyzing us to feed into the system. Natasha eyes the cameras skeptically and raises an eyebrow. The center screen now displays a digitized face, the face of a man.

"It's some kind of a recording," she concludes. Tony strifes over time where I stand, more off to the side than Steve and Nat, closer to the newer computer base. He steps in front of me protectively, shielding me partially from the camera.

"I am not a recording, Fräulein," the voice snaps. "I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me prisoner in 1945, but I am." The computer screen displays an old photo of Dr. Arnim Zola and Steve frowns.

"Do you know this thing?" Nat questions.

"Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years."
