"Yea, sure." You replied trying to seem as chill as possible. You knew he was going to ask about you seeing into his soul. You were quickly thinking of every excuse you've ever used and trying to fit them into the situation.

"great. bro, i'll be out in a sec okay? i gotta talk with our waitress." Sans said, his voice had more emotion to it now, but it was still as threatening as ever. You gulped and hoped he wouldn't attack you-- physically or mentally.

"I understand, brother, I'll go and grab the car then! Nyeh heh heh!" Papyrus spoke, his voice helped to calm you down but only momentarily. You looked over to Malcolm who was conveniently backing away from you and Sans. He gave you a look like 'good luck' then bolted to the kitchen to give you both privacy. You turned to face Sans and saw his empty eye sockets once more. You could hear your heart beating and the blood rushing through your body.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" You said while talking slowly and methodically to avoid stuttering. You had to seem innocent to avoid him sending a complaint out to your boss. Though, you knew your sweaty forehead and red face gave you away.

"what the hell did you do back there?" He asked the question very calmly though you could feel how panicked he was about it too.

"I don't know-"

"cut the shit. what did you do? how did you get into my soul?" He asked again. He was speaking faster and seemed highly agitated. You knew you could easily diffuse the situation by using your magic but now clearly wasn't the time to take the easy way out. You gulped and prepared to answer.

"I could feel how sad you were, it was pouring out of your soul, and I just wanted to know if I could've helped in any way but I see now that I couldn't." You paused and took a deep breath before continuing. "As to how, I used my soul's magic to be able to do it." You could see the gears turning in his skull and you wiped your palms on your apron. He didn't speak for a moment, but you could see his hands clench and unclench in his jacket's pockets.

"and?" was all he said, his face was emotionless and his soul was still dimmed. You bit the inside of your cheek.

"And, I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't pry into people's thoughts or souls like that. On the other hand, being a waitress means it's my goal to make my customers happy. Which does involve me getting into their personal space sometimes, but it's worth it to see people happy." You said. You were defending your actions, but you knew you were in the wrong.

"you shouldn't do that to people. if you know what you do is wrong then don't do it." He paused but you could tell he still wanted to speak, even though his mouth --teeth?-- never opened. "what did you see?" You knew the question was coming, but you were still happy you had the chance to lie your way out of this. Then again, you've already lied once and he immediately called you out for it, but if you lie now you have the opportunity to let him keep his privacy. You thought a moment more and broke you and the skeletons eye contact. You saw Papyrus in a red convertible similar to Malcolm's, he was scrolling through an app waiting for his brother. He waved to you and you smiled at him.

"I saw it all." You finally decided to say as you turned to face the skeleton again. You saw his smile drop a little at the edges and saw him start to sweat. His boney hands dragged down his face and dropped back down to his pockets. You could feel the fear coming off the poor guy so you tried to console him. "I'm not judging you or anything along those lines. Being honest I just want to help you. You've been through so much alone and you really look like you could use a friend, or someone who can understand your feelings." You said with a sad smile. His face grew cold, he looked like he was ready to kill you.
