The boys left as soon as they came, much to your delight, and you began to work on your reading work for Mrs. Serthine. You were trying to read through the pages she had assigned, but your mind kept backtracking to everything you were trying to look up earlier. You could look it up at home, but was it even worth it? It was way riskier to look things up about them at home and your parents were super conservative, which inturn led them to their current beliefs on monsters. If you did look things up at home your parents had the 'right' to check your devices history and everything you've looked up.
On the other hand, there were incognito tabs available. You were weighing the options against each other in your head. One could get you in a lot of trouble, the other you'd be completely fine and have no schoolwork to panic over tonight after work. You sighed and decided on reading the textbook then figuring out what to do. Trying to read the text was a whole separate issue in itself. The works you were reading aloud didn't connect in your brain and it felt like reading jiberish. You kept trying resulting in a wasted 10 minutes and no progress on the twenty pages assigned.
Eventually it was four in the afternoon and you had gotten through your homework rather quickly once you got in 'the zone' for doing it. Took you about an hour of relentless tries though. Luckily your mother had left for an emergency work meeting leaving you with one less obstacle. So, before you look up more on monsters and the underground in general, you were going to grab a snack and some more water. Can never be too hydrated after all.
Leaving your room you looked straight at the kitchen then to the living room. The t.v. was shut off and the kitchen was empty meaning you had free reign over the main part of your penthouse. You let out a small laugh and walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and a glass from your white cabinets. The glass made a ting sound as it was set down on the counter, resulting in a disgusted face. The sound of glass hitting the marble countertops in an otherwise silent room bothered you. You turned to the fridge and set your glass on the door, letting the fridge pour ice into your glass followed by water.
When it was full you set your glass back on the counter and opened the fridge door. With a sigh you closed the door and opened the cabinet to the right of it and crouched down to the floor to see inside. It was full of your mother's favorite treats for her cheat days. Sharron Tilden-Clermont was always about dieting and was currently going through her keto phase, yet there were still remnants of her juice cleanse phase from a few weeks back. You grabbed the box of cheez-its and poured some into the bowl you had set out. You resealed the bag then the box and put it back into the cabinet, hoping your mother wouldn't notice them being gone.
While walking back to your room you heard the locks on your father's office unlock and you quicken your pace. You got into your room without him seeing and slowly and quietly shut the bedroom door. You walked out onto your balcony after opening the door and set your snack down on the table you had out there. You walked back into your room and grabbed your laptop so you could restart your research on monsters. The chair you had outside wasn't comfortable though it helped you to keep your back straight.
You opened a new incognito tab and plugged in your earbuds to have some nicer background noise than the city below you. You remembered what you had looked up a few hours ago and decided to move onto a new topic. Famous monsters. It did seem like an absurd topic but if you were going to talk to them you needed to know their interests, right?
Your search result yielded a top five list as the first result so you clicked on that. Starting with one, which you thought was weird, was the king of all monsters. Which to your surprise was a large goat with hair and fur. He was wearing what seemed to be a black long sleeved shirt underneath a metal chestplate. He also had a long purple cape on with a symbol as the clasps holding it together and the shoulder blades. He had a long beard and yellow hair along with kind black eyes. He was human-ish which made him easier to comprehend in your eyes. You assumed he was around 6'5" though you couldn't tell through the photo. There was a caption underneath his photo saying how much of a hero and a nice guy he was.
