The hospital was cold and had that stingy, awfully clean scent to it. You had just woken up and were already upset with your surroundings. Though, the horrible sleep you had gotten last night could play a huge part in it all. Or-- yaknow maybe it was everything that had happened in the past 34 hours. Who knows? Your mind raced with images of everything that had happened last night. It was all too much for your feeble state, and your eyes had automatically started tearing up.

You glanced down at your chest and saw the ache inside your soul from yesterday. It was a harshly weak blue-green and looked like the hot coals from a fire. You were used to it being a bit more dim than what would be considered average, but this was dim enough to be more than worrisome. You leaned your head back on your pillow and stared up at the ceiling.

What had you just gotten yourself into?

You never knew working for your father would end up with you like... well this? It obviously shouldn't have ended up like this thats for certain. Your father should have taken much better care of you. Your thoughts continued to swarm in self-pity until a nurse walked in to check on your wounds. You raised your head and sat up better to see what she was doing. She had brought in a cart with ointments, creams, and bandages galore.

"Hello dear, how are you doing?" She asked nicely while setting herself up to clean and rebandage you. You said nothing and threw your head back onto the pillow behind you and stared up at the ceiling. You heard a soft sigh from the nurse before she spoke again. "Well, you didn't have to answer that one as it's painfully obvious how you're doing, but I do need to know how much physical pain you're in sweetheart." She said again.

"A lot. I'm sore all over and in constant pain with the burns all over my back." you muttered in spite of the wounds and bit your tongue when you stopped speaking to try and null the other pain. You heard the shifting of the nurses clothes as she rolled the cart over towards your bedside.

"Alright little lady I'm going to need you to sit up for me and shed your gown if you will. I'm going to reapply the burn cream to your back and bandage that back up. Then I'll take a look at that concussion of yours, okay?" You nodded in reply to her and started the slow process of removing your hospital gown. Luckily the nurse was patient with you. When you finished taking it off and were left in just your underwear and bandages she starting to remove the ones on your back

You hissed at the pain you felt and balled your hands into fists and shut your eyes tight to try and not pull yourself away from her. "She's just doing her job." You repeated over and over in your head to focus your thoughts onto something else. When she finsihed taking off the bandages on your back that had strung across to your chest she had you move onto your stomach and lay on the bed. She took the bandages off the backs of your legs as well.

When she was done she asked for permission to take pictures of your entire backside, while feeling extremely exposed and uncomfortable you listened to her explain how it was solely for medical purposes to correctly document how your burns were progressing. You agreed and heard her smocks shuffle again as she brought out some sort of camera and snapped some photos

When she was done with that, she spoke once more. "Alright hon, this is gonna sting. A lot. I'm sorry in advance and I'll give you pain relief afterwards so you can get some more rest. It'll knock you right out once we're done checking up on you." She explained as you heard her the bottle squeeze onto her gloved hands.

You had gotten the same kind of cream yesterday, but apparently you were far too out of it to register what was happening because holy shit did this sting. Your eyes immediately started watering until tears were freely spilling out of them. Your breathing was heavy and your throat felt compressed. You heard the nurse whispering apologies to you as she applied the cream. It didn't help that she was using a bit more force than needed.
