"Mia!" you cheered as you entered the restaurant the next day. She greeted you with a tight bear hug and a big smile. You had your hair put back in two braids today, and you were wearing a striped F/C and white shirt oversized t shirt, and a pair of black leggings with some boots. Mia was in a shirt and jeans with her hair pulled back into its usual ponytail. "What happened yesterday?" You asked, hoping she would give you the easy answer without you using your magic to coax it out of her.

"Ah you know how it is with two boys. Things get messy and complicated sometimes." She smiled at you and you walked with her back to the kitchen and saw her prepping meals for the day.

"Was someone sick, or...?" You asked her, hoping she would give you a clear answer. She shook her head and sighed.

"My oldest was having a rough morning and had taken it out on the youngest. We had to go to the doctor and I decided to just take the day off from the restaurant. I'm sorry I had to pay you all less." You looked at her saddened face as she retold the story. You felt your soul quench with her emotions swirling inside of it. You frowned at her and rested your hand on her shoulder in condolence. She turned her head back and smiled at you.

You released your hand and threw your bag into the little closet in the kitchen, having already taken out the uniform. You went to the bathroom and quickly changed before taking a scan over the restaurant. It was Sunday morning which meant you there would be a rush of people to the restaurant after church finished. You groaned as you walked back to the kitchen to toss the remainder of your clothes into your work bag before heading to the clock in/out sheet and signing your name to start your time for work.

Malcolm was apparently running late because of some project he had forgotten to do, so you were covering for him in the drinks/bar department. Luckily, Darcia was there to help you out with the waiting process until Malcolm arrived. Conveniently enough for you all, Malcolm arrived right before church let out and immediately got to work. He had apologized but Darcia wasn't having it, and instead chose to scold him on getting his work finished beforehand. You smiled at the pair as you walked over to a table and took their order.

You smiled as it was one of your favorite families. They, as usual, came right after church ended and took their normal table. They had ordered the same thing every week so you made eye contact with Malcolm telling him to tell Mia about their arrival. They were a giant family of six and always came dressed up nicely.

"It's nice to see a familiar face so early in the morning!" You greeted as you walked over to them with their usual drinks.

"Oh it's always a pleasure to see you Y/N." The mother said and the oldest twin set replied. You smiled and shook your head at them dismissively.

"And you guys are having the usual, right?" You asked, even though you never needed to as the family excitedly nodded in reply. You waved Malcolm over and he had already prepped the family's drinks.

"You guys in a rush to get us out of your hair today?" The mom joked again and you laughed while Malcolm headed back to his station.

"Nah, we just wanted to treat some of our favorite customers." You said with a smile and you dismissed yourself back to your job. It was a quick rush of getting people out and getting people in. It was always it's busiest on Sunday mornings which made it quite the struggle to get everything done in a timely manner. Sometimes on Sundays, if you were all unlucky enough, one of the local t ball teams would show up for lunch together. It was a rarity but it bothered you to no ends as dealing with about ten five year olds is never a fun way to go about the day.
