23. She's my Girlfriend

So, before I proceed with telling the story. I'm going to admit that I'm having very severe struggles with continuing the story. With the death of George Floyd may he rest in peace #blacklivesmatter and the Pride Fall happening. It's so overwhelming to try drawing and writing with everything going on. This story will end with 32 or 34 chapters :) anyways enjoy!

*December 29th, 2018*

Cassandra's POV

Nothing that interesting happened besides opening gifts and eating food. They pull off having a huge Christmas Dinner though. It was delicious and amazing. I wish Caty was here to try it with me.
Speaking of Caty, I pick her up from the airport tomorrow. I miss her so much. I can't wait to talk to her all about my Christmas and ask about hers. Unfortunately I cannot tell her about Lillie. Not yet anyways. I want to be comfortable in my own skin before I tell her how I've confirmed my sexuality.

I haven't even kissed Lillie yet. It seems like every time we tried. We either get interrupted or we're out in public. I think Lillie noticed when she saw my attitude was changing. I wasn't in the mood for anything either. I have officially became more distant with Lillie.

"Are you okay?" I heard someone ask instantly disturbing my thoughts. I turn to see Caleb. I shrugged turning back to look over the yard. It was gorgeous I couldn't get over the view.
I noticed Caleb lean against the balcony. He was on my right staring down at the view. Little did he know it was Lillie watering the flowers. I couldn't get over how pretty she looked and how amazing the view of everything was.

"So, are you and Lillie just friends or..." I turned to him giving him a really dirty glare. Caleb turned to me noticing the dirty look. "I apologize for the way I asked. I just... get this vibe that you two are more than friends."

"Well, she and I are just friends," I blankly told him not wanting to answer anymore stupid questions. In all honesty, I had no clue what Lillie and I were.

"Wanna go swimming?" He asked with a smirk on his face. Not the smug 'I wanna check you out' it seemed like he was curious if I was down to go swimming. "I'll give you extra clothes to wear if you didn't bring one," He said after thinking about it.

"Do you have a shirt?" I asked. He nodded leaving the balcony heading inside. I had extra clothes just not a shirt. He came back out handing me a black t-shirt.

"Thanks," He nodded as he left the room in general. I take the shirt I'm currently wearing off then put Caleb's black t-shirt on. I go to my duffle bag to see I have a clean set of clothes except for a shirt. I put the one I was wearing into the bag. I also put my keys and phone in my bag so I don't lose it. I exit heading into the living room. I wait for Caleb so I know where to go because his house is so weird.

He comes out two minutes after I did. "Follow me," He said as he started walking off. I tried catching up as quick as I could. Until we got to the pool I saw Lillie on the phone talking with someone. I jumped into the pool then came back to the surface to see Lillie no longer on the phone. But, staring at Caleb and I.

"Come join Lillie! The water feels amazing," Caleb said as he swam on his back. Floating as he lied there.

"Yeah, it feels amazing," I tell her. She studied me then looked at him. Lillie sighs shaking her head with a grin on her face.

"Give me ten minutes," she said walking away. She entered the house and I smiled. Hopefully this will be the day we kiss. Or I tell her how I feel.

"Cannibal!" I hear someone exclaim. Caleb and I turn to see Lillie jump into the pool. When she comes back up she moves her hair and looks at me.

"You're right. It does feel amazing," I smiled after she agreed with what I told her earlier.

"It's been a boring couple weeks without Caty. Do you know when she's coming back?" He asked. I figured to tell him the truth about when she's coming.

"I pick her up from the airport tomorrow," I tell him. His eyes light up in happiness.

"Really?" He asked. I nod my head yes.

"I'll be right back," He swam to the stairs getting out of the pool. He wrapped a towel around himself heading back inside.

"So, I have a question about us," I asked.

"Yes?" She asked being completely serious.

"Are we ... together ... or friends... I..." I awkwardly try to go on but she chuckles covering her mouth.

"I know what you're trying to ask, Cass," She finally responds with a smile.

"Okay," I give back an easy smile trying to forget about the awkwardness. We both got closer together and I instantly forgot what the hell I was going to ask her.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Lillie asked me waiting for an answer. I smile at her leaning in finally placing my lips against hers. Her hands cupping my face as she kisses back.

"I got more towels!" We hear Caleb exclaim slowly pulling away. I splash Lillie in the face so it wasn't obvious. She gasps in shock afterwards.

"Cassandra, I'm gonna get you!" She exclaimed as I see Caleb laughing his ass off from what I did. I laugh myself until she charges after me. Pulling me underwater with her. She pulls me in for another kiss which took me by surprise. I enjoy it until I pull away and go back up to the surface.

"I thought you two died for a moment," Caleb said taking a step into the pool and sitting afterwards.

"No... She got me back," I laughed it off. He shrugged as I got out sitting next to him with my feet still in the pool. Lillie was floating on her back. I enjoyed watching her finally happy to say she's my girlfriend.
