Caty Jones' POV

It's been five years since I went on a date with Caleb. Or in matter-of-faculty seen him. I couldn't get over how anxious I'm feeling. My stomach was erupting in butterflies, and I felt very giddy.

"Mommy-y, you look pretty," Nicole said to me. I was standing in the mirror, my hair was curled, I had a little bit of makeup on just so my eyes can pop out. I had a black dress on that hugged my curves in the right places. I looked good. I was also wearing black high heels.

"Thanks, Love. Are you going to behave while I'm gone?" I asked her hoping she'll obey to Cassandra's rules. I'm surprised she never moved out of the house she and I once lived in together. And presently are now.

"Yes, Mommy," she responded in a calm tone. I smiled as I lifted her up holding her tightly.

"I love you, Nicole," I say placing a kiss on her cheek.

"I love you too, Mommy," She hugged me. I never left her much. And when I did with Evelyn or when Cass came to visit or my Dad. She would behave well and not cause such a fuss. Nicole was always calm, always went to bed around nine o'clock unless she was excited about something and stayed up till ten. Even then, she was always good.

"Caty, he's here," Cassandra said walking towards the bathroom.

"Can I say hi?" She asked me. I smiled again.

"Of course, it's gotta be quick," Nicole nods before I put her down and she runs to the front door.

"You look amazing, Caty. I hope he'll say more," I smiled as we both embraced each other before going out into the living room. She was sitting on the couch waiting to open the door. I chuckled softly seeing how cute she was.

"Let me open it," I said as she got off the couch. I open the door and there he was. A white dress shirt with a black tie. He had black dress pants and shoes on. But, one thing I truly loved is that he didn't brush his hair back. He looked himself.

"Wow... You look... incredible," He said as he entered the house checking me out. Studying me more and more.

"'Not so bad yourself," I said with an easy smile. He gave me a genuine smile in return.

"Hi Dad," Nicole said approaching him wanting a hug.

"Hello Buttercup," he replied back lifting her up and hugs her as well.

"I like that name," She said. We all chuckled as she lets go. And he puts her down. Nicole runs to Cassandra hugging her leg. She's so adorable.

"Are you ready to go, Caty?" He asked holding out a hand. I take it turning to Cassandra and Nicole.

"I should be back by ten or eleven. Make sure she's in bed asleep by nine. Oh! She loves the bed time stories," I tell Cass as we both walk out the door.

"We love you, Nicole," Caleb and I say in sync. She waves and replies back. I close the door behind us then I'm being led to Caleb's car. It's been so long and I imagine everything is so different now compared to years prior. He opens the passenger side for me. I get in and buckle my seatbelt. He closes the door once I'm securely in. He runs to the drivers side opens the door and hops in. He sits at the wheel looking like he forgot what he was doing.

"Dinner?" I questioned to help him remember. He looked like the thing he forgot about came back to his mind. He starts the car driving out of the neighborhood.

"We haven't done this in years," It has been really long. It felt good to feel the breeze of the winds flowing through my hair as he drove us to a place to eat. Once we got there it was nice. It was a fancy place.

"Table for two," we got led to a table. It had two chairs sitting across from each other. A candle, and some wine. Caleb helps me in and scoots in my chair. He goes to his side sitting comfortably.

"Here's the menus," The waiter said handing us the menu's. He pours our drinks before leaving us be. There was one big chandelier, then four little ones surrounding it. The ceiling looked beautiful. I looked down at Caleb to see him smiling at me. He was amused that I was amazed at the place he picked.

"I made reservations and called that I was on my way, Miss Jones," He winked at me after saying that referring to the time he called me that years ago. I smiled shaking my head at him. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks knowing I was blushing.

"I have a question I've been wanting to ask," I open up because I truly have been wanting to know this. I could've asked the day she was born. But, I wasn't for it. Or, I didn't know what to say.

"Ask away," He said taking another small sip of his glass of wine. It didn't taste like alcohol at all.

"When did you sign those papers? Claiming she was yours?" He didn't answer at first. He looked around the room as if he was searching for something. I raised a brow at him patiently waiting for him to say something. I don't know why he was dodging the topic. It was years ago.

"After getting the printed pictures and I paid for them. I asked if there was a paper I could sign stating she was mine because I wasn't going to be there when you gave birth. And that you were going to give birth at the hospital you chose in your hometown. She had me sign the paper and she said she was going to transfer it whenever you were about to give birth. Your doctor I meant," I nod as he tells me when and how and why. Along with what he told them.

"Why was I not good enough for you to stay?" He finally asked me the question he looked like he's been wanting to ask for a long time.

"I didn't want to ruin your reputation. I didn't want you getting fired. I also needed support from my family. Also, my parents divorced a month after you saw her hit me," I finally answer. I didn't understand why he still thought about not being good enough.

"You and Cass were good enough... I just wanted my family," I smiled weakly feeling my eyes tear up. I tried blinking them away but one managed to escape. Caleb watched me intently as if he felt bad for asking but, also didn't fully.

"Okay. Well, let's catch up and order our food," Caleb said giving me a reassuring smile telling me 'it's okay let's forget I asked' type thing. I gave him an easy grin as I took a long sip from my wine glass.

"Wait, what? She asked you on a date and her Dad said it was okay?!" I asked processing everything he told me. He was telling me crazy fan stories he's experienced. And one of them was while he went to this event called Vidcon.

"Yeah... I still feel awful for breaking her heart," he confesses. I nod as we finish our food.

"I'm stuffed. Thanks for the dinner," I say to him. He smiled rubbing his hand through his hair.

"Would you like to come to my place... tonight?" He asked nervously. Should I?
