Chapter 10

Angelina stepped in and changed into the baby pink slippers Pete bought for her few days back. She was now a regular visitor of their house. She knew she was being shameless but as far as good food is concerned she was ok being 'shameless'.

Sam was way too happy to be able to have her best friend everyday for dinner. And Pete never complained about having one extra mouth to feed. So, Angelina decided it's best to stick to shamelessness.

"Ay, is your brother not home yet?"

"Are you here to see me or my brother?" Sam cocked an eyebrow.

"Hehe, this is not what I meant." Angelina was brainstorming to find some excuse, "I wanted to discuss my mother's surprise birthday party plan with you guys."

"Oh, he said he will be late today. So he can't have dinner with us." Sam entered the kitchen and Angelina's shoulders drooped down. She knew at once what dinner they were having- the world class, best of the best, Chef Samantha's special 'instant noodles'.

"I should get going." Angelina said after having dinner, "it's getting late."

She walked out of the lift and into Pete.

"Returning home already?" He asked.

"Yes, it's getting late" she replied.

"Eeerrr.. I brought these doughnuts from my restaurant. Would you like some?"

"Yes. Sure, I mean , why not?"

Pete handed over a bag to her. Their fingers touched. "Why do you have to be so soft?" Pete thought to himself.

"Sam, I need your help."

"Shoot"

"Our company will host it's 5th anniversary soon. I don't even have something appropriate to wear."

"Mmm. Ok, let's go to shop after dinner."

"Thank you. Mwah mwah. I love you baby." Angelina was smiling. It's been so long since she last went to shop.

"Is this your new boyfriend?" Aaron's voice reached her ears.

"Yes, and you know what? He is not a two timer like someone else." Angelina replied.

At evening Sam and Angelina were laughing their ass off .

"You know, hahahah, I never felt sooooooo good from inside in these past few years. It felt so relaxing to say those words on his face. Hahahahhahahahahaha. You won't believe, his face turned so red upon hearing this. Hahahahahahaha."

"He deserved it, that jerk" Sam was proud of her Jelly. She finally learned to talk back to Aaron.

"Dinner is ready" Pete declared.

Angelina's eyes were twinkling after she look the first bite of white sauce pasta. The look on her face caused the formation of a positive arc in Pete's face.

"Why are you smiling like a fool?" Sam asked Pete.

"Because I can"

Sam rolled her eyes and whacked his head. "Stop messing around and eat."

"Saaaaaam, I am so jealous of you. You brother cooks so much of delicious foods," Angelina whined while sipping water.

"My brother is your brother too." Sam suggested making Jelly choke on water.
Goddamn it Sam. This wasn't my point. Focus, sis.

"Are you ok?" Sam patted her back worried.

"Ya, I am ok" Angelina wiped her mouth.

"Having one sister has caused enough trouble in my life already. I don't want another" Pete got up from the table.

Sam was making faces at him. Then she said, "Drop us to the mall."

"Ok."

"There's no need. We can take a cab" Angelina suggested.

"He said I am a trouble. So I should really cause troubles in his life" Sam mocked, she was clearly angry on her brother.

"It's not a trouble at all, my dear sister. I have something to buy as well." Pete pulled Sam's cheeks and got punched in return.

Sam picked up two gowns for her. Now it was her turn to try them out.

The first one was burgundy in colour
Embroidered with sequin and crystals, finished with a leather belt.

While the second one was much simpler. A solid black backless gown.

After giving a thought, Angelina opted for the later.

Sam suggested "we should hit the spa as well. Let me get an appointment for the next Sunday."

It was the day of her company's anniversary party. Angelina took bath until she smelled like a flower. She came out, wrapped in towel and started blow drying her hairs. The money she spent in the spa didn't go in vain. Her hair was a lot smoother and softer now. Once, she was done drying, she tied her hairs away from the face and sat to apply makeup.

She opted for a more of a soft eye look to enhance her natural eye colour. By the time she finished her makeup, she could hardly believe how good she looked.

She reached the venue after the party had already began.
