Chapter 25

"Ah? O.. excuse me!"

David nodded in response. So this is the lady who has captured your heart. Hmmm.. interesting.

Angelina entered the Kitchen. "How can I help you, chef?" she joked.

"By being here beside me!"

Angelina rolled her eyes at the response and burst out into laughter. "Childish!"

Sam has finally finished drying her hairs. She came and sat beside David. But something didn't feel right in the atmosphere. Why was Jelly in the kitchen with Pete? Didn't he strictly warn her from going anywhere near the kitchen when he was cooking? Then why isn't he getting angry on Jelly? And, why is David staring at Jelly and smiling like that? It can't be this, right?

"So, you said Pete was dating someone?" David said in an extra loud voice.

"Yes!" Sam opened a candy and propped it into her mouth.

"Who is she?" David shot the question at Sam, but was actually staring at his friend.

"Eh! Pete, you didn't tell me who she is yet!! Jello, if we are lucky enough we will get to listen some juicy gossips today. Hahahahahah. I can't believe he is actually dating someone. Hahahahahha." Sam pushed David's arm and continued to act normal. But in reality, she was not feeling good at all. She was afraid of loosing him for the second time. But, it was her Jelly. She can't stop her from being happy for her own selfish motives.

Angelina looked up at Pete. He ran his fingers through his hairs and gave an awkward smile. He was not sure if he was allowed to disclose that he was dating her.

She slightly nodded blinking her eyes.

Sam caught the interaction. David chuckled, saying " Congratulations !"

"Am I missing something?" Sam was frowning.

- " We are dating."

- " We are dating."

Both of them said at once.

David was grinning. I guessed it right.

Sam sat like a statue. She had always low-key wanted to pair them up. But at the same time, she didn't want to force them. At present her brain couldn't process the fact her wish had actually come true. She was feeling overjoyed. Her mood brightened up even more when she saw David grinning. So he actually was looking at Jelly because he already figured the thing out? Does that mean he doesn't have crush on Jelly?

"The day is so beautiful today." Sam picked up her cellphone from the table and walked towards the balcony.

Why did Sam not react to the news? Was she unhappy with us dating? Angelina was lost deep in thought when Pete wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"What's wrong?" Pete asked.

"Sam..." Angelina lowered her head, "Perhaps Sam doesn't approve it."

They sat down for dining. Angelina felt a lump form in her throat. It was painful. The last thing she wanted was to hurt Sam. How could she not think of Sam's feeling beforehand??

"Sam.. if. If you don't approve us being together, I will not continue this." Her voice cracked, eyes started to tear up.

Sam remained silent throughout the dinner. But then the calling bell rang for the third time that evening. Sam got up and opened the door.

Angelina was confused when she saw Sam return with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a crate of beer on the other. Did she hurt her so badly that she wanted to get drunk?

"What are you staring at? Huh? How can we not celebrate this ocassion?" Sam asked.

"Celebrate? Does that mean you are not angry with me?" Angelina asked, half believing her own words.

"Angry? I was shocked! I always wanted to pair you guys up. Now that my wish is fulfilled, why on earth will I be angry?"

"But.. then why were you not responding?"

"I needed time to absorb the shock." Sam figured out a lame excuse.

" Drama queen." David commented.

Angelina hugged her, " I was so afraid. Afraid that I had hurt you. " She could no longer hold her tears. "I love you, Sam. You are my only friend. I will never want to hurt you."

Sam let her shed tears. " Sorry.. I just wanted to arrange a surprise. I didn't want to make you suffer."

Angelina finally pulled away. Wiping her tears, she said "Let's get wasted!"

It took Angelina only two bottles of beer to get drunk. She looked to her right and saw Pete.

"Hehe" she giggled.

"What happened?" Pete asked smiling.

Angelina pulled Pete in her arms and said, "You look good."

"Really?" Pete was finding her silly drunk behaviour very amusing. He decided to play along.

"Yes." She propped her chin on his shoulder, " Let mommy pet you."

"Pffffftttt!!" Both Sam and David laughed simultaneously.

Pete shot another deadly glare at them, and turned his gaze back to Angelina.

She was currently patting his head with a gentle touch and loving gaze. "Such a good boy." she giggled.

David and Sam felt like the third and fourth wheel.

Sam said, " Brother, just take her back to your room. I don't want to be a third wheel."

" Aye aye aye, take your girlfriend to your room, bro. Not mine." Sam stuck her tongue out and made a face.

"Baby.." Angelina clinged onto him and poked his cheek. "Baby.. talk to mommy."

Pete dragged his koala into his room.

Sam got a naughty idea. She too clinged onto David and said, "Daddy, let baby pet you."

He choked on his beer. Pushing her away with a finger he said, "Didn't you say I wasn't a man? What made you change your mind?"

You are the only man I see as a man, peanut.

" Bottom's up!"
