Chapter 29

Today was a big and memorable day for Angelina. She had her first appointment with her psychiatrist. She has always feared about the outcome of such sessions. What if she comes to know that her PTSD was incurable? What if that resulted in something more disastrous? What if at the end she looses Pete? She finally figured out this unending "what if"s were not taking her anywhere. So, today, she finally gathered enough courage to seek for professional advice.

But today, she finally has a answer to all the queries. And to her relief, things were looking bright. She wanted to tell Pete everything so badly, but at the same time she also wanted to surprise him. Huh! Caught in a dilemma. But she had an idea.
All she needed to do was implement it in a good way.

"Let's go out for late night snacks today" she texted Sam.

"My lady, don't you think you have texted the wrong person?"

"Nope, I have texted the right one. Let's meet downtown."

Phase 1 of plan initiated [ System notice]

Pete dropped Sam in the said location. He low-key wanted to accompany the ladies, but Angelina chased him away saying it was ladies' night out.

"It's been so long since we had spent time like this" said Sam biting on her charred corn.

"Life has been so busy these days."

"I want a vacation" Sam whined.

"Really? You can go to a holiday with David, then."

Sam moved her face towards Angelina almost in slow motion, "Was I being too obvious?"

"So, I guessed right!" Angelina nudged her.

Sam wrapped her hands around Angelina and placed her head on her shoulder.

"You can tell me whatever is going on in your mind, you know."

"David likes me too. Our feelings is mutual."

"That's a good thing. What's the problem then?"

Sam lifted up her head and said " He is afraid he will loose his best friend."

"Did you guys talk with Pete about this?"

"I am afraid. What if what David fears comes true?"

At this rate, my plan won't be successful. I need to find a way .

Angelina was brainstorming. Yes, how can I forget this?

"By the way. You are my best friend and Pete is your brother."

Sam bolted up. "My freaking goodness! How can I forget this important point???"

Phase 1 completed

Angelina was happy with the outcome. Now it was time for phase 2.
But she can work in it tomorrow! Therefore it was the best idea for now to go to bed.

The four of them were presently sitting together eating dinner. Angelina nudged Sam.

Sam took a deep breath and announced , " Pete, I love David."

There was pin drop silence in the room. David's spoon fell onto the table . Angelina could tell this sudden announcement had taken David by surprise.

Pete on the other hand didn't appear much surprised. He slowly turned towards his friend and asked, "Do you love my sister?"

David opened and closed his mouth a few times. Then nodded meekly. Why was Sam so rash? She could atleast discuss with me beforehand!! What will I do without Pete in my life now?! David's spirits had reached their bottom.

But then, Pete said the totally unexpected thing. "You finally got the courage to confess to her? I just wanted to see how much more time you were going to waste before you guys get together."

"This... Does this mean you accept our relationship?" David asked.

"I trust you with my Sam, Dav. I told you this before."

The atmosphere went lively with Sam constantly giggling.

Angelina sighed in relief.

Phase 2 completed

Sam and David were snuggling on the couch. Pete smiled a bit and then returned to the kitchen where Angelina was currently doing the dishes.

"Look at them, all comfy!" Pete chuckled.

"Umm.. I was thinking of something." Angelina said.

"Go on.. I am listening."

"Ummm.. Let's go on a double date. Umm.. vacation to be precise. Err.. between this Christmas and New year?"

"Not bad! Where do you want to go?"

"Let's discuss with them too."

Pete placed a quick peck on her head and walked away.

Just wait for the good news Pete. I will make sure to provide you with every happiness that you deserve.

"Let's go to Disneyland!" Sam suggested.

"How about going to a holiday resort?" David said.

"Ummm.. I was thinking to go camping in the mountains." This was Angelina's original plan. She was praying hard for her suggestion to get accepted.

"Hmm. Camping sounds fine." Pete said.

"Then... Okay! Let's go camping!"

Angelina finally sighed in relief. Her plan was getting successful. All now she needed to do was same Sam and David her wingmen.

Phase 3 completed.
