The cabin door opened and the doctor walked in. Pete's mind returned back to reality.
"Good morning, Mrs. Ray!" he wished in a cheerful voice.
"Good morning doctor." she replied smiling.
"Did you sleep alright last night?" He asked while noting down her vitals.
"Yes. Your medicines worked well."
"Your vitals have improved a lot. I guess you could use more of your time resting. Ah, I will ask the nurse to change the bandages after you have breakfast. And also, you will get your MRI report by afternoon."
"See, I am alright. I was just too tired! You are worried for no reason at all."
"You should take more care of yourself." Angelina picked up the breakfast box and opened it. Delicious smell of chicken stew wafted off. Mrs. Ray's stomach growled. Pete helped her unpack the bread toasts. "Maa, you know, Pete cooks food almost as delicious as you." Angelina took a piece of bread and fed it to her. "Here, taste the stew too."
"Ummm... Delicious!!" Mrs. Ray savoured the taste closing her eyes. "You are even better than me at this!"
Pete stood there embarrassingly scratching his head.
Mrs. Ray finished everything in a very short time and burped. The three of them bursted out laughing.
"Shhhh!! This is a hospital." Mrs. Ray reminded.
"You seem to be very hungry" Pete joked.
"Eh. I don't like hospital food. They taste bland." Mrs. Ray shivered as if she just re-lived the moment of tasting hospital food.
"Errr.. auntie.. Can I.. take Angelina out for breakfast?"
"Go on! You have my permission for everything!"
There were many cheap yet hygienic restaurants beside the hospital. Being near such a busy hospital, they almost never lacked customers. This is one of the main reasons behind cheaper rates in these restaurants compared to restaurants in a different location.
They went inside the one with relatively less customers. As soon as they stepped in, the warmth inside made them feel cozy. Many man and woman sat scattered throughout the restaurant. It had different tables- two seaters, four sitters and family tables. They opted for the two seater one.
Pete pulled out the chair for her just like the perfect gentleman he was. Angelina smiled and took seat. Pete too followed her and sat down. A waiter came forward bringing them each a glass of luke warm water.
"Would you like to order now?" he asked politely.
"How about eggs and bacon?" Angelina asked her boyfriend.
"Why not? Two eggs and bacon please. Add one espresso for me and a latte for the lady."
"Anything else, sir?"
"No, this is it. Thank you."
The waiter went to bring them their orders. Pete sipped water from his glass and looked at Angelina. She looked amused for some reason.
"You look funny, you know?"
"How do you know I like latte?"
"Ofcourse I know. You are my girlfriend, so who else would know about your choices?" Pete answered giggling.
Angelina raised a brow slightly. It must be Sam. Hmm. This is the only conclusion.
Their breakfast arrived not long after.
"So, when are you going to your restaurant?"
"By 11:30, I guess. We are holding a charity dinner event tonight. We will donate 80% of our profit to an orphanage."
"Why didn't you say this to me earlier. I could've contributed as well."
"Miss. Angelina, would you like to visit the orphanage with me?"
"Only if it's on weekend. I won't be able to take leave in next few months."
"Okay. Weekend."
"Eh! Aaron has kept silent after that day. Your punch was effective I would say!"
"Why do you have to mention him though? I don't want him to even look at you with his vile eyes."
"Are you jealous already?"
"Erm..I.. I just don't want him to hurt you anymore."
"You look cute when you are jealous, you know!" Angelina giggled.
"Who is jealous?" Pete asked while paying bill.
"Just admit it, Mr. Boyfriend." Angelina wrapped her hands around his arm and said with a teasing smile.
"Hell. I am ready to admit anything if you ask me to so sweetly." he winked making her turn a shade of red.
Their sweet moment came to an abrupt end because of Angelina's phone ringing loudly.
Baby shark do do do do...
"Sam💕" the caller ID read.
"It's your sister."
"Hello!" Angelina answered.
"Babe, I will visit aunty in the evening after office. How is she doing now?"
"Doctor said her vitals improved. Which is a good sign, I guess."
"What about the MRI report?"
"Results will be out by the afternoon he said. I really hope Maa has no serious illness."
"Aye! Don't worry! She will be fine. Then, see you later. Byebye."
"Bye."
Angelina disconnected the call and realised they already reached the hospital entrance while walking during the phone call.
"Lets go inside."
