Chapter 9: Gabriella and Troy

Ricky's POV

The auditions are today and I'm kinda excited. I hope Nini gets Gabriella and I get Troy because there is a kiss scene at the end... No. That is not the reason Richard. I keep telling myself that but I think it is the reason. When I told Nini that the gang forced me into asking her out I immediately regretted it. I like Nini. As more than a friend but she probably doesn't feel the same way... Does she?

Nini's POV

Today are the auditions for High School Musical. I really hope I get Gabriella because it would mean the world to me. I hope Ricky gets Troy because he needs to try new things. Not because I like him as more than friends and really want to do the finishing scene with him when we kiss. No. Not because of that at all...

"Yo Nini" Ricky said, walking up to me.

"Do you always use that same line when you first talk to me?" I asked him.

"Yes, yes I do" he smiled "I'm glad you noticed"

"Ready to audition?" I laughed.

"Yup Gabriella" he said.

"Ok Troy. Let's go then" we left for the auditorium.

*One hour later*

"The cast list is posted" Miss Jenn announced.

Ricky and I looked at eachother with excitement.

"WE GOT THE PARTS!" We shouted at the same time.

"Well done" EJ came over and said to us in a annoyed tone.

"You got the understudies" I smiled at them "That's amazing"

"Yeah... Yeah" Gina muttered and the walked off clearly annoyed with us.

"Whats up with them?" Ricky asked me.

"They are angry with us because the new girl and the skater boy beat them" I informed him.

"Well, we were better than them" he laughed.

I slapped him gently on the arm "We were just as good"

"Meh..." He smiled.

"Ok, time to go" I walked away.

"Where you going?" He asked me.

"Home. I'm starving" I walked backwards.

"NIN-" he shouted to warn me of something but... He was too late.

"Nini, please give me another chance" I heard Jake say from behind me.

"No, you got a girl, who wasn't me, pregnant after dating her for a year and cheating on me" I gave him a fake smiled "I'm sorry, not sorry, no"

I walked out of the school with Ricky running behind me.

"He needs to go" I told Ricky "He needs to just let me get some air away from him. Every time he comes it makes me think of that day when we went camping" I wiped the tears that were threatening to fall from my eyes "He reminds me that I am not worth it and... I can't be loved"

"Hey, hey, hey" Ricky stopped me "You are worth it and you can be loved"

"Yeah... Jake made me stop believing that" I told him.

"Stop" he put his arm infront of me and cupped my face in his hands "Listen, Nini, you are worth it. You don't need a boyfriend to tell you that. And someday you will find a guy and he will love you with all of their hearts. You just haven't found the right guy yet"
