Chapter 16: Diary

Nini's POV

"Nini, are you ok?" Lola asked me as she walked in the door "You look worked up"

"Yes... Wait. No. I'm not Lola" and then I burst out into tears.

"Neeners" she hugged me "What's wrong? You can talk to me"

"Ok" I wiped my eyes and started explaining everything that happened "Ricky, my boyfriend. At least, I think he is my boyfriend, came over last night because his mom cheated on his dad" it pained my to say the names of either boys but I had to, to explain to Lola what happened. Once I'm done explaining I will ask her about the dream "And then he stayed the night and when I woke up I came down and started making pancakes. Then Jake, my ex boyfriend who cheated on me and got my best friend pregnant, came over and started explaining that he cheated on me so that this wouldn't be exposed for the world to see" I took the book out of my pocket.

"A joke book?" Lola looked at the book confused.

"No. My diary" I looked at the book "Wait. What? This is a joke book. Where is my diary?"

"Anyway, what happened then?" She asked me.

"Another time but right now I need to know which boy out of Ricky or Jake has my diary. Both of them hate me right now so it could be either of them. Whichever one of them it is, is a really good pickpocket..." I stressed.

"Neeners, everything will be ok" Lola held my hands "Explain the rest of the story to me and then we will look for your diary after"

"Ok" I took a deep breath "Well, he was blackmailed by Frankie and then I asked him for a good reason to believe him and then he kissed me as that 'good reason' and Ricky saw the kiss but nothing more. I tried explaining to him but he wouldn't believe me and asked Jake what happened but Jake lied and said that I wanted him back, when I don't, and Ricky stormed out on me thinking that I wanted to do more than kiss Jake last night when I was actually beside the love of my life and sleeping the whole time. Also I punched him in the face" I rushed out, crying again "Can we find my diary now?"

She looked at me sympathetically "1) GO GIRL! 2) Your moms told me that you needed to ask me something a while ago and it can't be that since that happened today. What is it?"

"Before Ricky and I were together I had a dream, one of those dreams that felt so real when you are in them, and we got married in it. What does that mean?" I asked her.

"That means that you see Ricky in your future. That you would want to marry him" she explained to me.

"That's what I thought" I smiled.

"Now, time to go get your diary!" She exclaimed, walking out of the room and into the hall.

"Thanks Lola" I laughed "I lost it about a year ago and started stressing about it. I don't want to loose it again"

"Don't worry Neeners. We will find it" she smiled at me.

We got into the car and drove to Jake's house. (Let's say that it's about 45 minutes away) By the time we got there it was lunchtime and we were hungry so we stopped for some lunch.

When we arrived at Jake's house it was about 2:00. I walked up and knocked on the door.

"Nini! Hey!" He smiled at me. He had an ice pack on his nose. Wow. I didn't know that I could do that much damage.

Lola came up and stood beside me, knowing why he had the ice pack.

"Oh my gosh! Jake, I'm so sorry. Are you ok?" I asked, worried.

"Neeners! Stay strong. Why are you really here?" Lola reminded me.

"Right, sorry. Jake, do you have my diary?" I asked my ex.

"No, I gave it to you" he said genuinely.

"Really? Because I lost it again" I looked at him.

"Wasn't me. I swear" he said, not looking suspicious at all "I had it for a few months. Why would I steal it again?"

"You're right. Sorry about the nose and all this. Bye Jake" I walked back down the driveway.

"Love you Nini" he waved.

"Nice try but no. Stop. You ruined the best thing that I had and now I have to try and fix it" I said angrily, getting in the car

"Oh. Sorry. I hope you fix it" he smiled a bit.

I waved at him as we left for Ricky's house.

"I hope he didn't read anything that was written in there" I admitted to Lola.

"Wait. Did you write about... You know... In there? She asked, worried of the answer.

I nodded my head and started crying "If he finds out, he will break up with me for good"

"Neeners, if he does then he is not worth it. You need a guy that respects your privacy and accepts you for who you are" she rubbed my leg.

"I'm so glad that, even after you, Momma C and Momma D found out, you were still so kind and caring. You really helped me through it. Thanks" I smiled at her.

"No worries. You were so young though" she laughed a bit.

"I know. If only I had have stood up for myself" I wiped my tears away.

"Neeners, there was nothing that you could have done. You were 6 and had no idea what was going on" she comforted me as we pulled up outside of Ricky's house.

"Thanks Lola. If he hasn't read it, he doesn't find out" we agreed.

I walked up and ran the doorbell nervously.

"Nini? Hey, I am so sorry about what happened 10 years ago! I didn't know!" He said straight away.

"You read it? Why did you read it? I thought you would be able to respect my privacy" I started crying. Lola stood beside me "He read it" I whispered to her.

"I didn't. I was going to then I decided against it and threw it down on the bed. It opened up at a page and I saw two words that don't go together very well" he confessed "I'm so sorry Nini. If I could go back and change the past I wouldn't have taken it. Please forgive me. I love you so much"

"Wait. You still love me after finding out that?" I pointed to the diary.

"Yes, of course I do. I would be an idiot if this was what we broke up for" he smiled at me.

"I love you too. I can believe you if you can believe me" I looked at him, straight in the eyes.

"Nini, I did believe you. I was just angry at the world and I took it out on you. I'm sorry. It was wrong" he apologized.

"I'm sorry too. I love you" I hugged him.

"Only a hug? That's kinda sad" he smiled at me.

"If you insist" I giggled, kissing him.

"Can you explain how this was even possible to me though?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's a long story. Wanna go to mine?" I offered.

"Yeah" he smiled "Oh! And hi! I don't believe we've met?"

"No, I don't think we have" Lola shook Ricky's hand.

"Let's go" I took both of their hands and got into the car.

We drove home.

"MOMMA C! MOMMA D!" I called as soon as we got in.

"They don't seem to be home" Ricky told me, confused.

"Where are they?" I asked, annoyed.

"Neeners, don't worry. They'll be home soon. I think you have some explaining to do to this young man though" Lola told me.

"Yeah, you're right" I smiled "Upstairs?"

He nodded and we made our way upstairs. Here goes nothing. I am about to tell Ricky the biggest secret that I have.
