Mentally in love (Remington Leith)

Chapter Forty-One

"What's up? Last time I saw you, you were very relaxed, now you seem uptight and sad?" Andy asked. Remington stayed quiet.

"Come on man, it's for El," Andy pleaded.

"I'm supposed to be leaving by the end of next week," Rem sighed. I bit my lip not really sure how to feel anymore. I want him to be happy about it. I know it sucks that he's leaving, but why does it hurt him so much...

"That's good man, congrats! You worked hard for it. Why aren't you happy?" Andy spoke, interrupting my thoughts.

"I don't want to leave her here. What if she gets hurt again, I won't be here to protect her. I wanna be here for her. What about her nightmares? She has them almost every night. I can't leave her Andy...I just can't," I heard Rem sob from behind the door.

"I get that everyone here has their problems, and sometimes they take them out on others. But she's not weak. She's getting better every day. You have nothing to worry about. It's not like you're leaving her forever. You plan on staying loyal right? You trust her right? Because I can tell you, she'll stay loyal. She loves you more than anything in the world. I can see that just in the way she looks at you," Andy chuckled.

"Of course I'm going to be loyal. I love her more than anything in the world it's just..." He trailed off.

"What is it, man?" Andy questioned.

"Th-The last girlfriend I had...the only one I had...She died. I left her alone in the car. I just left to go pick up her surprise for her birthday. They fucking shot her...The bastard fucking shot her. It should've been me...I came back and she was dead.  Shot her right in the fucking head. Her blood...was soaked into my leather, her head...her brains...It was-" He broke down even more. I stood there shocked at what I had just heard. My heart broke for him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told you that I-" Andy cut him off.

"I understand now. You're scared to leave her alone because of your past trauma. I'm sorry you went through that. It sounds very terrible and traumatic. I would go crazy if anything like that happened to any of my girls. But listen Eleanora is one tough girl. She's been to hell and back and she's still with us. She's fighting every day. She won't give up because you're gone. She's going to fight so she can meet you outside of these doors one day. You won't be away from each other for long. I promise you, she won't die without you here. No one will harm her while you're gone. And she won't be alone either. I promise you. You know just as well as I do that Chris and Ashley and those two weird boys with their shaved heads...well the one with the shaved head..and that one girl with blue hair, they're going to be by her side. They will protect her from whatever evil can lurk within these halls," Andy preached. I heard Remington sniffle.

"I know you're right, I just can't help but be fearful for what might happen," Remington's voice sounded so soft.

"You're a good guy, Rem. I can see that. And I'm glad that Eleanora ended up with someone like you. You guys are going to be just fine. Everything will be just fine," I heard the patting of leather like a hug was being exchanged.

I backed away from the door, wiping my eyes.

"I never knew...I knew something happened to his girlfriend...I just didn't know it was that dark," I tried to calm down.

"That was so sad," Juliet wiped her eyes as well.

"I feel bad for the dude. He has one hell of a past," Ashley sighed with sadness in his voice.

"Well now I wish I was nosy," Jake muttered.

"No you don't it's so sad," I cried.

"Aww, try and calm down, love," Juliet wrapped her arms around me. I wrapped my arms around her waist as I cried.

She rubbed my back and swayed us back and forth. After a few minutes, my sobs resided and the door opened. I let go of Juliet. There stood my red-stained eyed boyfriend and a very tall man with a small smile on his face.

"I love you," Remington ran into my arms. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around him as well.

"I need to tell you about my past.." He sniffled.

"I heard it all. I'm sorry. But I thought Andy was going to give you the big brother talk. I'm so sorry you went through that, baby," I whispered back.

"Nosy," He bit my ear. I laughed as did he. Tears were running down our cheeks.

"Okay, no more tears. You're going to make me cry. Can we keep exploring?" Ashley asked, causing all of us to laugh.

"I'll take you to my favorite spot," I smiled, wiping my remaining tears away before taking Remington's hand and kissing it.

"The place we were last time?" Andy asked.

"Yes sir," I smiled.

"Lead the way," Juliet spoke from behind me. We turned off the lights and closed the band room door behind us.

"I love this place," I rambled. We walked past our room, and then Tyler's and Josh's and soon enough we were in the garden.

"It is absolutely beautiful," Juliet complimented.

"Holy shit, it's stunning," CC muttered to himself.

"I like this better than the fountain at  Sunny Coast" JInxx smiled.

"Sunny Coast?" I asked. 

"Yeah, Sunny Coast is the old college I went to. But I dropped out. The campus is nice, but it has its downsides. Drugs, bullies, homeless people who get in and hang out at the dorms...Yeah. But it has a good education system," He explained. 

"Damn. That sounds like a lot," I looked at him wide-eyed. 

"This is my favorite spot. The amount of times I've cried here is ridiculous," I laughed, changing the subject.

"I've never been back here before.." Remington analyzed the pretty flowers that lined the backyard.

"Will you grow roses for me when you leave?" I asked.

"I'll bring you a bouquet when I hear you get to leave. I'll be the first person you see outside. Then I'll take you on a real candlelit dinner," He kissed my temple. I smiled at the thought of a date with him.

After we spent some time in the garden, the sun began to go down and visiting hours came to a close. Everyone left including my new friends that I had met and my big brother Andy.

"I'll see you guys soon. We'll be back to visit before Remington leaves. Make sure to eat something before you guys go to bed okay? I love you, Eleanora, you take care of Remington okay? And Remington you take care of our little girl alright?" Andy smiled.

"I'll make sure of it," Remington kissed my scarred temple.

"I love you too Alexander," I smiled before watching him and the rest of them leave.

"Want to get some dinner?" I asked.

"Can we have a dinner date? I think I need some more alone time with you," Remington smiled.

"Only if you promise me something," I smirked.

"And what's that?" He asked.

"Promise me that I can have chicken nuggets, Mac N Cheese, and a Dr.Pepper," I smiled.

"I promise that you can have anything you would like, my love," He kissed me. I smiled into the kiss and pulled him closer by the collar of his shirt.

I love him.
