Have you ever been the reason why someone who used to do something doesn't want to do it anymore?

If you have, I hope you find in yourself what you have done wrong.
If you haven't, I wish for you not to do the same thing. The world itself is already cruel. We don't need the people living in it to be like one.

All eyes went to me as I entered our room. Guess who's late again?

"Uhm, I'm sorry I'm late," I apologized.

My professor just nodded. It's one of the few advantages of being a Clemente. The power, to wrap everyone in your fingers. I guess, I can live with it.

I sat beside my bestfriend, Ari, who's seated at the back row.

"What took you so long? Aware ka ba na you're 30 minutes late?" She asked.

"Trust me, I'm very much aware."

"Eh why nga you're late?"

"The usual?" She knows that. Aside from me waking up later than the usual, Dad and I had a row before I left which caused me to be late, of course, again. He had this long list of reminders that I'm very much reminded of. Talagang mag-aaway kami, paulit-ulit siya eh.

Why does he need to remind me those everyday, anyway? It's not like I'm dumb to even forget that.

"Why did I even ask?" She murmured to herself and shrugged.

"See you bukas, babe. Ingat!" Ari waved before she entered their car.

And I was alone again.

Ycarrie Fontanilla or Ari, as what I call her, is a childhood friend of mine. She has this jolly attitude that most of the time, I find annoying. She's also an artist, but not as good as me-as what she have said, that's why we have that unbreakable bond.

I met her when I was 6. I remember it was a rainy day when I ran away from home. I bumped into her on my way to the park. The park that has been my third home for years now. My second home was Ari's.

We both laughed after we bumped at each other when we notice that we're both crying. And from then on, I had the only friend that sailed with me.

Turns out, she ran away from home that time, too. She told me she got scolded for skipping lunch that's why she ran away, hindi katulad ng rason ko.

Not to invalidate her feelings but I have been scarred for much heavier reasons. Being scolded for skipping lunch won't even hurt me anymore.

It's so unfortunate of me to experience these things at an early age. Nonetheless, I am grateful I'm alive.

Napangiti ako. Ari has been my friend for 10 years now. Since then, we've been each other's human diary. I know her struggles. She knows mine. We share the same sentiments.

I guess she's He who is up there's gift to me. One of the few good things that happened in my life.

I will always wish her the best, even if someday we have to part.

I glanced at my silver wrist watch when I noticed that kuya Diego, my driver since 7th grade, is later than the usual.

After a few more minutes of waiting, I stood up from the bench I was sitting on. Kuya Diego will text me naman if he's already here. Tinatawag na ako ng kalikasan.
