Because it was a little later than usual for anybody to leave the hotel for dinner, and all the YouTubers ate at the hotel anyway, there were no fans outside so we easily got in a car and drove to the restaurant. Luckily it was very upper class and the girls and I felt that our outfits suited the place nicely.
We got out of the car and walked in, I quickly fixed my hair before walking through the door. The boys said that we had a table reserved to a man at the front desk and he took us to a table where Luke was sitting with his arm around a tall brunette. She was sat up straight and was wearing a cropped top and high waisted jeans. Her hair was in a half up-do and her make-up looked effortlessly gorgeous. She was beautiful. She was really, really beautiful. This was Emily I guess.
I suddenly felt ridiculously overdressed and I could feel my face heating up before they had even spotted us coming toward the table. When Luke saw the guys, his eyes lit up.
Then he saw Violet and they widened, Sam, widened a little more, Lori, little more, and then me. And I swear I didn’t think eyes could get wider than what they already were, his mouth dropped open a little but he quickly closed it. That made me feel smug.
We all slid into the booth. I may have been dressed up, but there was no way I looked better than Emily.
No way.
“Guys” Luke cleared his throat, “This is my girlfriend, Emily” she smiled widely, perfect teeth, Luke continued “Emily, these are my best friends, Ashton, Michael, Calum, Samantha, Violet, Lori and Addison” we all smiled at her.
“Really Hemmings? You’re going to use our full names?” Michael groaned, Luke was quite obviously nervous. Michael reached out his hand for her to shake, “I’m Mike. This is Ash, Cal, Sam, Vi, Adi and Lori’s just Lori” he smirked at her.
“Hey, just because my name doesn’t shorten to anything doesn’t make me any less cool than the rest of you” Lori whined
“Kind of does” Sam said in a sing-songy voice, opening a menu.“It’s nice to finally meet you guys” Emily said. Even her voice was perfect. So feminine, and she basically breathed out the words they were that smooth.
“And you” Violet smiled. We all ordered our food and drinks. Everybody was talking and I actually hadn’t said anything all night. I don’t think that anybody seemed to notice.
“So, how did you meet Luke?” Ashton asked her while we were eating
“Well, it was when he was over here for a show about 6 or 7 of months back. I was in Starbucks and, the clumsy mess I am, spilled my coffee everywhere and he offered to buy me a new one. I guess, we saw something in each other” she looked at him longingly “we saw a spark right there and just like that, love”I could feel the anger building up inside of me, I tried to calm myself down but I couldn’t.
I watched as Luke placed his hand on her thigh and began to rub his hand up and down.
I was getting so jealous, so angry.
I clenched my hands into fists and moved my hand onto the table to calm myself down but I brought it down a little too hard,
I basically punched the table,
Making the cutlery rattle and drinks move. I made everyone look at me and Luke and Emily jumped.
“Sorry!” I said. The first words I had spoken all night and I was apologising. “I didn’t mean to hit the table. Sorry, I’m- I’m just sorry” I was getting flustered.
“It’s fine” Luke said. At least they weren’t lovingly staring at each other anymore. I could’ve sworn that I saw Emily glaring at me from the corner, but when I looked over, she looked away.
