We all sat in the room for a while, talking and telling stories. Our stories were no where near as interesting as the guys’ and Sam’s stories.
I was sat next to Luke and I leaned toward him a little while everyone was talking.
“How’s things?” I asked, quietly
“Alright.”
“Emily?”
He got a lot quieter and closed himself in a little,
“Yup, she’s cool”
“Where does she think you are now?”
“Getting food”
“Oh”
There was a longer silence
“I’m going to go” he said to the group, we all looked over at him.
Everybody knew it was a little weird but just left him to it.
“Okay, see ya” Violet waved him off and he walked out of the door.
I couldn’t just let him walk out like that again.
“I’ll be back in a second” I said, I watched as Violets eyes lit up, knowing that I was going after him.
I walked out of the door and ran down the hall,
“Luke!” I called, seeing him stood at the elevator. “Don’t you dare leave me again” I was angry for some reason. Why was I angry?
“Adi I’m sorry”
“Luke please”
“No” he was about to get into the elevator.
I grabbed his arm and pulled him down the corridor
“Hey, what are you doing, let me go!”
I continued to pull him. I found a corner where we were away from the lifts and the stairs and the rooms.
“Don’t do this again.”
“Adi this is for you. It’s to keep you safe”
“I don’t need to be kept safe I can handle myself”
“Not this time”
“Luke! Let me talk for just 2 seconds!”
“I am letting you talk and I’m telling you she’s dangerous!”
I reached up and placed my hand on his cheek.
“Luke I trust you, I really do. But you need to start trusting me. I can do this.”
“I can’t be here. She’ll find out and she’ll do something, I know she will”
“What’s the worst she could do?!”
“Adi, who do you think told the media that Sam was pregnant? They didn’t come to that conclusion on their own. So many people would get fired if they did that”
I froze. Slowly lowering myself to the ground, Luke following me.
“You mean-“
“She found out I went to see you that night. I begged her not to do anything to you so she got Sam instead, there was nothing I could do. That’s why I wasn’t at the airport to say goodbye, I was afraid. I’d rather she hit me than say this stuff about you guys.”
“I don’t believe this. I don’t understand”
“She wants to ruin you all. Adi please just stay away from her”
“Luke this is not right. We have to do something”
“No please!” his voice cracked,
I shushed him and rested my forehead against his, I tangled my hand in his hair at the back of his head.
“I don’t know how much longer I can take this Adi” he whispered
I looked at his face. He had dark circles under his eyes and he was pale. He looked so tired. So drained.
“Luke if you don’t like this, you need to get yourself out.”
“I can’t, she’ll ruin the band. She’ll ruin us”
“What can I do. Tell me what to do!” I cried, I felt my eyes sting with tears
“There’s nothing you can do”
“There’s always something”
“I’m sorry” he got up to leave
“No!” I yelled at him.
This was it.
I was in meltdown.
Well, there’s no turning back now.
“This isn’t fair! Why do you have to be with her!”
“She’ll hurt you!”
“So you keep saying but you know what? I DON’T CARE ANYMORE. Let her do it. Let her come and attack me. Give me her worst. She can’t do ANYTHING Luke.”
“She’ll ruin the guys’ careers”
“She wouldn’t dare”
“She has solid evidence”
“SOLID EVIDENCE OF WHAT”
“THAT I’M IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS”
I froze. Again.
“You’re, what?”
“I’m not. I swear to you I’m not. But she planted stuff, and took photos from certain angles. She has proof.”
“It’s not proof if it’s not true.”
“I don’t know what to do anymore!”
“And you think that I do?!”
“I have to go”
“No you don’t”
“I’m not risking losing y-“
I cut him off by crashing my lips into his.
He was shocked at first.
So was I.
Our lips moved in-sync as we settled into the kiss. His hands moved up to my face and I lost mine in his hair for the millionth time.
We pulled away and he smiled at me, I smiled back.
“I’ve waited a very long time to do that” I whispered
“You know what? I thought you never would”
We kissed again.
What I was doing was just sinking in when I heard yelling coming from down the corridor.
We pulled away and I frowned.
I poked my head around a corner and my eyes widened.
Stood there, screaming at Ashton, was the person I definitely did NOT want to see.
