“Where is she?!” we heard someone yell from the door, I turned to see paramedics running in. Better late than never I guess.
“Over here!” I called as they ran over. They tried to pull us away but we wouldn’t budge.
“No, no I’m not leaving her!” screamed Calum, tears streaming down his face
“Sir, you need to move, we have to take her to the ambulance”
Michael ran over and held Calum back,
“Cal, Calum just relax. They’re going to help her, let them do their thing” he tried to sooth Calum
“Please” Calum’s voice cracked, “Please don’t take her away from me”Sam, oddly had retreated into Ashton’s arms. I was expecting more of a fight from her but Calum was frantic. Screaming and crying about what to do.
The paramedics were doing everything they could but nothing seemed to be working. I buried my head in Luke’s chest
“I’m scared” I whispered
“It’s going to be alright. I promise you. You’re going to be alright” he tried to make me feel better
“But she’s not going to be. Is she?” I looked up at Luke.He bit his lip and pushed me back into the position I was before.
That was a no.
No, Violet’s not going to be alright.
This was all my fault! If I had just stopped Emily when I saw her pull out the knife instead of assuming it was fake. I should’ve let Violet hit her.
“Excuse me?” I felt somebody tap me on the shoulder and I turned to see a police officer behind me, “I understand this may be a difficult time for you right now but if you could just confirm what happened that would be helpful” the officer said to me. I couldn’t think about it. Thinking about it made me feel worse. It made me tear up and I just buried myself in Luke’s chest again.
“I got it” said Luke. “That girl over there,” I felt him point toward something, (Emily probably) “She came in here threatening me with blackmail, and she tried to go for my girlfriend. Violet was trying to stop her when Emily stabbed her in the side.”
I could hear his voice wobbling a little. I took deep breaths when I quickly turned around.
“Is she going to be alright?!” I asked
“It’s really up to what the doctors can do now” the officer said and he walked away. What was I supposed to do now? Lori was still crying in the corner, Sam was being held by Ashton who was muttering things to her, Michael was still trying to calm Calum down, which wasn’t working.
Everyone else that was in the room were making statements.
“I need to check on Lori” I said to Luke as he nodded and I walked over to Lori
“Hey,” I whispered as I lowered myself to the ground where she was sitting
“Adi this is all my fault” Lori leaned into me and I cradled her in my arms
“No it’s not” I said, “None of this is your fault. Violet wanted you to know that. This was my fault anyway, I should’ve never gotten involved with Emily and I did and now Violet’s…”
“It is my fault though. I told her to go and do something when Emily lunged for you. And she did what I told her to and now she’s dying and I don’t want her to die Adi! I don’t want her to die”
“None of us do sweet heart. None of us do.”I held Lori close as she cried into my chest. I saw the paramedics get Violet onto a stretcher and lift her into the ambulance outside. Calum still trying to get free of Michael’s grasp. Michael had had to fully hold him back from everything. He was going crazy.
