Chapter 24 - Pregnant

“And up next, the scandal that could ruin the careers of the band 5 Seconds of Summer…”

My ears pricked up and I looked at the TV with wide eyes.

Did I hear that right?

I was watching the news, why were they on the news? The man sat at the desk continued to speak,

“While their drummer, Ashton Irwin, has denied all rumours, is it possible that he has managed to get his 18 year old girlfriend, pregnant?”

A picture of Sam flashed onto the screen, I admit that Sam wasn’t the smallest of people but to make the mistake that she was pregnant was out of order. There was absolutely NO WAY that she was pregnant and it was quite clear that she wasn’t. I clasped my hand over my mouth.

“Lori! Violet!” I screamed and they came running in,
“What?! What is it Adi?!” they panicked and I pointed at the TV screen.

“Samantha Johnson, is originally from the UK and had her own YouTube channel ‘Samidk’ which she hasn’t posted on in a couple of weeks. She was seen boarding the 5SOS tour bus in LA this evening. Could this be to keep her hidden from the press? Is Ashton going to drop out of the band to father his newborn child or is he going to leave her? Will this end the bands career as we know it?”

The television switched to ads and I looked at the others. They also had their hands over their mouths.

“What the hell was that?!” yelled Violet
“They’re accusing Sam of being pregnant!” I screamed
“That is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen or heard, she so obviously isn’t!” Lori added
“And even if she was, why would they try and hide it!” Violet butted in
“Do you think she’s seen it?” I asked, more quietly
“God I hope not” Lori said.

I picked up my phone and opened twitter to see if anybody had said anything. I mentally prayed that nothing was there, but I was so wrong.

I searched Sam’s indirects and all that came up was hate. Telling her she was a slut and that she was stupid for getting pregnancy this young.

I searched her ‘@’ instead, to see if anybody had directly tweeted her about it.

And sure enough.

They had.

But this time it wasn’t bad,

@sashtonlove; I can’t believe the shit the news are saying about @Samidk, absolutely disgusting to say something like that about somebody so incredible

@Jenna5SOS; @Samidk we love you so much Sam, we know this entire thing is a lie, you’re beautiful, don’t listen to the media, promise us that?

@amyidk; I’m about to throw down with this news station. Nobody deserves this, especially not @Samidk

It was so great that all of out fans were working together to stick up for Sam. I was still absolutely disgusted, and I wasn’t sure if Sam had seen it or not,

Then I got a tweet notification, all of us did,

From Sam,

@Samidk; Don’t worry guys, I’m not pregnant. I’m just fat.

This was not good.

Just as quickly as she had tweeted it, it had been deleted. Either Sam or management. But either way I knew this entire thing was way too much.

Then Michael tweeted;

@Michael5SOS; now I’m angry

I saw Lori crack a little smile, then came Calum
