I searched all the near by toilets, I had to find him, I needed to find him, I promised...I promised, I couldn't brake that promise, not to him. I ran into what was known at the 'hook up' spot, no one ever came in here until it was too get a quickie at school...some people had no dignity. I stopped for a moment, shutting the door behind me, listening out...then came quite sobs...Alex!
I walked over to the only stool with the door closed and knocked. "Alex? Alex it's Matt, open up."
"Go away."
"Please, I made a promise, don't make me brake it please, just let me in, you don't even need to talk, just open the door."
It felt like forever, but finally the door unlocked, I pushed it open and there, on the floor by the toilet was Alex, curled in a ball, hood up, cuddling his knee's to his chest, holding back gut wrenching sobs. "Why?"
"Because he's a jerk." I sighed, walking into the stool, shutting the door and locking it. "Where's Kel?"
"G-gone t-to get M-Mr. C-Carlile." And that's when I saw it...his hoodie was stained red in...oh no.
I collapsed next to Alex. "What did you use?" Alex said nothing, just shook his head. "Alex, what did you use, please..Alex please I'm begging you..." He slowly opened one of his hands and my heart once again shattered into pieces yet again. How could my heart shatter so many times? "Alex, give it to me, please."
"I-I need it."
"No, you don't, please, I'm begging you, you don't need it, I'm here, please." I held out my hand and he finally let it fall into my hand. I quickly moved, flushing it down the toilet. I snaked my arm around his shoulder and pulled him towards me, letting him sob into my shoulder. I took a deep breath. "Alex, look..." I pulled off the sweat bands on my wrists, revealing a few small scars I kept covered at all times by the bands. He sat, staring, confused and finally lifted his head up to me. His eyes where red, puffy, blood shot, his face riddled with pain and hurt.
"Y-you..."
"Yeah, when I was in middle school, when I was bullied...but Alex please, it's not the answer. Please don't hurt yourself, one day...one day you could cut wrong and you could...a-and I don't want that to happen. Please." I pleaded, I couldn't have him doing that, he needed to stay alive, I needed him too. "Was it true what...he said?" He didn't have to say anything, his eyes said it all. "I am too."
"Bu..." He looked at me shocked and confused.
"Yeah." I gave a little chuckle. "Only Jack know's, I-I I learnt to hide it. I couldn't go through what I went through in middle school again. S-so I learnt how to act 'normal', I learnt who to stay close too, who to avoid, what to do, what to say. It eats at me every day, I-I just can't go back there. I-I nearly ended it, m-my parents, m-my sister...seeing their faces as I laid in the hospital bed...it killed me. So...that's why I put up with Alan...I-I can't go back there."

Alex's POV

I sat there, bewildered at what Matt was telling me, his eyes where watering as he told me what had happened and hung his head in shame. "Please don't do it Alex, I-I can't see you like that..." He spoke quietly.
I was lost for words, well, that wasn't much new, but this time it was different. I finally understood, he was like me, he just knew how to hide it. "I-I'll try."
"I-I'm sorry I can't stand up to him for you, f-for Kellin." He sniffed, keeping his head down. "I-I want too, b-but I'm weak."
"I-It's ok, I get it."
"I-It's not ok, y-you deserve better."
"Do I?" I slumped against the stalls wall sighing, wiping my eyes.
"Yeah, you do." He finally lifted his head up to me, wiping his eyes. The warning bell rang. "Are you going to be ok?"
"Yeah." I nodded, not sure if I meant it or not. "Go to class, I got to wait here for Kel and Mr. Carlile."
"Ok. Alex?"
"Yeah?"
"Come over after school tonight? Please?"
I sat there for a moment debating it. "Ok." I nodded.
"Text me your address and I'll pick you up." He wrapped his arms around me. "If you need me, text me."
"Thank you." I whispered, with that, he pulled away and left.

Minutes later Kellin came back with, who I guess was Mr. Carlile. "Hello Alex, I'm Mr. Carlile, but you can just call me Austin when your with me, I'm a friend, so none of that formal stuff ok?."
"Ok." I spoke timidly, he was tall, like, really tall, dressed in black slim lined trousers with a white long sleeved shirt. I could just about make out the tattoo's he had underneath the shirt...boy he had a lot of tattoo's. He sat himself down next to me and looked up to Kellin.
"Let's get you patched up and we can go talk in my office ok?" I nodded my head. "Kellin did you grab the bits?"
"Yeah." He handed Mr. Carlile, Austin, some anti septic and a badage.
"Thank you. Where's the blade Alex?"
"F-Flushed it." Well, Matt did...
"Do you mind if Kellin checks your bag?" I shook my head in response, I'd only brought the one with me and Matt made sure that was gone. "Ok, this may sting..." He started dabbing the two wounds, he was right, it did sting, but I didn't mind, I was used to it.
"Nothing else in here." Kellin put my bag back down in front of me. "Here..." He pulled out a hoodie from his bag. "Take my hoodie, you can't wear yours."
"Thank you." I gave him a small smile, taking the hoodie from him with my free hand while my other was having the wrist bandaged up.
"There you go. Ok, Kellin you got the note I gave you?"
"I do." He nodded.
"Ok, go get yourself to class."
"I'll see you in last period ok Lex?"
"Sure." I gave a small, single nod, he shot me a small smile and left.
"Come on, let's go chat." Mr. Carlile stood up, holding out his hand to help me up. I took off my hoodie, and went to throw it into the trash. "I'll wash it for you if you don't want your parent's seeing it."
"T-thank you." I handed it to him and quickly threw on Kellin's.
"I'm guessing they don't?" I shook my head. "Ok, I won't tell them this time, but please understand, I am a friend, but if I ever feel like you may go too far...I will have to call them."
"Ok." I nodded and we headed to his office.
