A/N: Ok, so I've made this a light hearted chapter for the most part, I didn't want the entire story to be doom, gloom, and all that. So here's a lighthearted one for you, and I'm sorry if you think the jokes are awful...English humour for you, but I do hope you get a giggle out of it...even if it is laughing at me because they're so bad :P
"Ok ok, what is thee worst joke you've ever heard?" Jack asked.
"Why did the hedgehog cross the road?" Kellin started. I narrowed my eyes at him and he shot me a cheesy grin.
"Why?" Matt raised his eye brow.
"Too see his flat mate..."
Matt and Jack just sat there, silent for a moment until they finally both started laughing. "Ok, that...was awful, where on earth did you hear that?!"
"You're boyfriend over there!" Kellin pointed over to me and I threw my middle finger up at him.
"Hey, it's a good joke." I protested.
"Oh baby, no, no, that...there's just no words...wow!"
"It's one of those jokes, so awful, you can't help but laugh because of how awful it is!" Jack was holding his stomach in fits on his bean bag.
"You're all laughing." I sulked. "Even if it is at me, rather then with me."
"Awww it's ok baby." Matt teased pouting and kissed my cheek.
"Whatever." I huffed. "Ok Mr Funnyguy Quinn, give us a good joke then..."
"Sure, Why wasn't Jesus born in England?" We all sat, waiting for the punchline and he finally delivered. "Because he couldn't find three wise men or a virgin."
My mouth dropped open. "You sonofabitch!"
Jack and Matt howled out in laughter. "Nooooo way!" Jack gasped for breath.
"Ouch, Kellin, harsh!" Matt was curled up in a ball, laughing so hard the occasional snort let slip, which I found adorable, and made us all laugh. "Shut...up!"
"Oink Oink!" I teased and made pig snorts.
"T-t-t-thats all folks!" Jack had now fallen off of his bean bag and was now on the floor.
"NOT FUNNY!" Matt was trying so hard not to laugh and snort his face was turning red.
"Oh it is!" Kellin panted, wiping his eyes, trying to calm down from his fit.
I could happily say in that moment, I was genuinely happy, Me, Matt, Kellin and Jack just sat making jokes, ripping on each other, laughing at ourselves and each other. I hadn't laughed like this since Me and Alan used to do this and I missed it. Maybe I had been totally wrong about Matt and Jack, maybe I really had been over thinking. But I knew the laughs would only last so long before we all had to go home, and I'd be alone, when the voices in my head would start again, filling me with doubts. And Monday, it would be back to the nasty comments, the beatings, the torture. But for the moment, I decided to ignore those thoughts and just enjoy the moment while it did last.
"Hey, hey, What's the difference between Matt Flyzik and a pig?" Jack asked.
"There's a difference?" I retorted and the laughs just got louder and harder as Matt sulked, throwing himself down, covering his head with his pillow.
"You alll suckkkkkk!" Matt cried.
"Well, you three do but I prefer licking personally!" Jack tried so hard to stop himself laughing. Me, Matt and Kellin stopped laughing, staring at Jack who suddenly went wide eyed. "Uh oh..."
"GET HIM!" Matt cried and we all started throwing pop corn at Jack.
"ARGHH! Stop! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Please!" Jack tried to shield himself from the handful's of popcorn being hurled his way.Matt's POV
Yup, it was official, I was in love with the one and only Alexander William Gaskarth, the way his laugh sounded so musical. The way his eyes lit up like stars in a clear night sky, his adorable chipmunk cheeks as he smiled, the way his eyes would crinkle, just a little, the slight dimples he had. The way he gasped for breath while he laughed, clapping his hands together or slapping his leg, the way it was so infectious. Not to mention the retorts he made to comments being thrown where pretty witty and funny, even if they where at my expense.
Seeing Alex like this, it just made me that much more determined to make him happy, to see this side of him every day, no matter what it took. He deserved more then anything to be genuinely happy, it made me hurt that so many people treated him so badly when there was no way he could deserve it.
We finally calmed down from our laughing fits and I noticed both Alex and Kellin holding their sides, trying, and failing to hide the pain in their faces. My heart sank a little as I remembered both of them getting pretty badly beaten. "Are you two ok?"
"Yeah, I'm good." Kellin nodded.
"I'm fine." Alex gave me a small smile. "It was worth it, I haven't laughed like that in a long time."
"Me neither." Kellin agreed. I just didn't understand it, why? Alex, and Kellin too both deserved to laugh like this, everyday.
"If you need painkillers Matt's got some in the bathroom?" Jack offered.
"We're good, it's easing now." Kellin reassured us.
"Well if you need anything let me know yeah?"
"We will." Alex smiled at me and lent his head on my shoulder, taking my hand in his, interlocking our fingers. I was glad to see he'd relaxed, when he first got here he seemed tense, when I kissed him, or got close he seemed...awkward, but now he was making the small affectionate moves and I loved it.
"So I was thinking we should totally order pizza and put on a really cheesy funny film!" Jack suggested.
"Sounds good." Alex smiled with a nod.
"Oh, er, I got to go, my sister just text, she wants to go out for dinner and I haven't seen her in ages, plus being the only family member who talks to me..." Kellin sighed as he put his phone back in his pocket.
"It's cool dude." I smiled. "Do you need a lift anywhere?"
"Err no, she's on her way to pick me up now."
"Is she hot?" Jack asked eagerly.
"Jack!" I frowned at him. "Seriously? She's Kellin's sister, I'd imagine like my sister, his sisters off limits."
"She's got a boyfriend anyway." Alex chuckled. "And four years older then you."
"Dammit!" Jack sulked.
"Sorry." Kellin shrugged and grabbed his bag. "Anyway, I uh better go, you going to be ok getting home later Lex?"
"Yeah, Matt can take me." Alex smiled getting off the bed to give Kellin a bro hug. I notice Alex whisper something in his ear, but I couldn't make out what he said.
"I'll see you out, and you two can decide what pizza you want." I got up off the bed, pulling out a Domino's menu from the second drawer of my bedside table and handed it to Alex.
"Okay." Alex smiled and me and Kellin headed down stairs.
