Saturday Morning
Matt's POV
"Hey Jack." I smiled as Jack waltzed into my bedroom.
"Sup Flyzik! I brought goodies!" He grinned, waving a full plastic bag around in his hand.
"Ahhh good lad! Umm, before we do anything, I uh, I need to talk to you..." I chewed on my lip ring nervous.
"Ok, sure." He nodded and sat himself on the edge of my bed. "What's up?"
"Umm I kinda invited Alex...and Kellin, if that's ok?"
Jack stared at me for a moment, leaving my heart pounding. "Um, sure, I don't mind."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, no, it's totally cool, just...surprised that's all. What made you invite them over?"
"Well, um, Kellin is Alex's friend...and uh, well..." I dropped my head down and lowered my voice, I knew Jack was totally cool with my sexuality but I didn't know how he'd take the news that me and Alex where dating.
"Well...?"
"I'm, um, me and Alex are, um, dating."
"What?! When? How?"
I took a deep breath and explained everything from the moment I laid eyes on Alex in the music room. "He's a really good, sweet guy Jack and I-I think I'm falling completely head over heels with him."
"Wow...that was the last thing I expected." Jack gave a small, light laugh. "You know if Alan finds out..."
"I really don't care anymore Jack." I finally lifted my head up to look at Jack, his expression was confused and a little worried, but soft, which made me feel better. "Every time I see Alex getting pushed, shoved, beaten, having names hurled at him...it brakes my heart and it makes me so damn angry. Alex has begged me not to do or say anything for now, until we work out if you know, what this is, is real, but for me I already know it is. Just...Alex, he's...careful, he doesn't trust easy, and I can't blame him with what he's been put through. But I'm determined to prove to him that it's real for me and that he can trust me, and if it means I have to suffer the beatings and the verbal abuse too, he-he's worth it to me. I understand if you, Zack and Rian want to, you know, carry on as you are and carry on acting like we all have been. But, I'm going to stand up for Alex, for Kellin...for myself. I'm nearly seventeen Jack and I can't let some punk ass fifteen year old keep pushing me around and hide anymore."
"Well, I can't speak to the other two, but I'm with you. If you're ready to come out and stand up, I'll be right by your side, just like I promised when you first told me. Yes, I'd like to escape high school unharmed, but you're my best friend and I made a promise. And if Alex makes you happy, which he clearly does given how insanely happy, giddy and hyper you've been all week, then I'm with you man." He gave me a small smile, I could tell he was worried though.
"Jack you really don't have too..."
"Yes I do Matt, you know I don't think what Alan does it right, and you know I end up feeling as guilty as hell when we stoop down to his level. And you're right, we're both nearly seventeen, it's time we stopped being...wimp's, grew up and stopped letting shits like Alan getting to us."
"Thanks man, I knew I could count on you." I gave him a smile and held out my fist.
"Best friends til the end dude." He nodded, bumping his fist with mine. "Right, so when can we expect them? I need to check the dude out for myself, make sure he's good enough for you."
I let out a chuckle. "I don't know, he didn't say if they where actually going to come, he said he'd think about it. I was about to text him."
"Well, get him over then!" Jack rolled his eyes, throwing my phone at me.Alex's POV
I'd been sat in my room all morning, debating with myself if I should go over to Matt's. Of course I wanted to see him, I wanted to see him really bad, but knowing Jack was going to be there made my stomach churn with nerves. I didn't know Jack, I know Matt said he was a good guy, but that's all I had to go by, and I was still struggling to find it in me to fully trust Matt right now. I was trying, and I was slowly gaining trust in him, but it was so hard for me, I hated it, I wanted to trust him so bad, but of course, I was fucked up and broken, so it wasn't so simple. What if Matt is genuine but Jack finds out and tells everyone? No, Jack wouldn't do that to his best friend, would he? He'd known Matt was gay for so long and never said anything. What if this is a set up and Alan's going to be there and we'll get our asses kicked? No, Matt was genuine, wasn't he?
I was interrupted from my thoughts as I felt my phone vibrate violently in my pocket. I sighed, pulling out and reading the message.
Matt: Hey :-) So, me and Jack where wondering when you where going to bring your sexy ass over here? And like I said, you can bring Kellin if you like.
Wait, had he told Jack? I mean, I don't see why he wouldn't have, I told Kellin, so I guess it made sense.
Me: Um, let me just text Kellin, have you um, told Jack?
Matt: Yeah, and he's standing by us 100% :)
I sighed, maybe I was over thinking everything, I usually did, it was something I liked to do a lot. Especially when I was thrown head first into the unknown, it terrified me, and the feelings I felt for Matt, just made it that much more terrifying. If this did turn out to be a set up, I knew it would bring me to my braking point, as much as I tried to deny it, I was falling for him, in every way. And there's only so many times one person can brake, and I'd been broken so many times before, this would be it for me, especially if he was the one to brake me.
Me: Hey Kel, um, Matt's invited us over to his with Jack, if you wanted to go, up to you.
Kellin: Oh, um, I dunno...
Me: You don't have to, it's cool if you don't.
Kellin: No, I said I'd give Matt a shot, and I will, does Jack know?
Me: Yeah he's told him and said he's standing by us 100%, apparently.
Kellin: Hmmm okay, what time?
Me: Um, whenever.
Kellin: Ok, I'll uh, be at yours in half an hour, I'll get my cousin to drive us, you know where he lives?
Me: Yeah, I know where it is, you really don't have to come Kel...
Kellin: No, I want too, beats sitting in my room all day alone I guess, I'll see you in a bit.
Me: Okay :-)
Well, the fact Kellin was coming did make me feel a whole world better, at least if I really wasn't over thinking and my head was right, he'd be there with me. Not that I wanted him to get hurt too, but yeah, it's just easier with some one there with you. And if I was over thinking, I'd just in general feel more comfortable with Kellin there, someone I could more or less freely talk to without risk of an anxeity attack or just closing up altogether.
Me: OK. We'll be there in about 45? Kellin's cousin is going to drive us.
Matt: Yay! Hurry up here, I miss my kisses :-(
Me: I'll be there soon, I miss them too.
It was true, I did, I loved how his lips felt on mine, I craved his kisses every time we where apart, the way they made everything melt away. The way just everything in that moment felt perfect, the way it seemed like there was nothing but me and him and anything was possible. For a brief moment I'd feel hope, and that was something I haven't felt since I was a little kid back when we very first moved here. It just felt right when his lips where on mine, when he held me, when he held my hand, when we where next to each other.
I dragged myself off the bed, slipping off my plain white tee and slipping on a black one, which I guess I had to admit, fit quite snugly. Of course I hated myself, but I had to admit, the fact I didn't eat an awful lot and enjoyed my late night sneak out my widow strolls kept me in shape. I had to stop myself looking at the bruises in the mirror, I knew they where there, I felt them, I didn't need to see them too. Breathing had got easier thankfully, now they only hurt when I decided to laugh, which thankfully wasn't exactly often and me and Kellin managed to avoid Alan this week for the most part. So aside from the occasional pushing, shoving and comments, we hadn't gained anymore bruises, but I knew that wouldn't last long.
"Hey mum, I'm, um, going to head over to a friends if that's ok?" I gave her a small smile as I found her in the kitchen cooking up some lunch.
"You done all your school work?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Alright then, you want anything to eat before you leave?"
"No, I'll uh, probably eat there." I probably wouldn't but right now, I was too full of nerves to eat.
"Okay, what about dinner?"
"Umm, I'm not sure, I'll let you know."
"Alright, make sure you let me know by half five if you want dinner. Oh and home by ten please."
"I will." Just then the doorbell rang. "That'll be Kel, see you later."
"Have fun." She smiled sweetly and I went to answer the door.
"Hey." I gave a rather awkward Kellin a small smile.
"Hey, uh, ready?"
"Yeah." I nodded, grabbing my hoodie, slipping it on and walking out the door.
"So, uh what are we doing at Matt's?"
"I think we're just going to chill out on the xbox or something." I shrugged as we climbed into his car.
"Where we going then?" Kellin's cousin sighed. I gave him the address and he pulled away."There you are." Matt smiled as he opened the door and instantly pulled my lips, making me blush and go a little awkward. "Hey Kellin."
"Uh, hey." He gave Matt a small awkward smile.
"Come in then, Jack's upstairs."
"Cool." I nodded and we stepped in, Kellin looked around Matt's house with a face of awe.
"Nice place."
"It's alright." Matt shrugged. "Anyway, either of you want a drink?"
"I'm ok thank you." Kellin answered.
"Lex? I have Pepsi?"
"Yes please." I smiled with a nod, I couldn't say no to pepsi, my parents never brought it and it was hard to come by here for some reason.
"Sure, two secs." He nodded and went off, into what I assumed was the kitchen.
"Kel you don't have to..."
"No, it's cool, I'll be fine once I chill out a bit."
"Here you go babe." Matt smiled, kissing my cheek as he handed me a can of Pepsi.
"Thanks." I blushed and we followed Matt upstairs.
"Jack, this is Kellin and Alex, Alex, Kellin, this is Jack...although you all already knew that, but you know." He shrugged.
"Hey guys." Jack smiled as he waved.
"Hey." I stood awkwardly with Kellin, who looked even more awkward then I did.
"Well, sit down." Matt threw himself on to his bed next to Jack.
"Hang on, let's let lover boys sit together, Kellin you want to take the desk chair, or there's a bean bag down here?" Jack asked, picking up a black bean bag and waving it.
"Um, desk chairs cool." Kellin nodded and sat himself down.
"Well, c'mere then!" Matt patted the space next to him, I paused for a moment but eventually sat myself on the bed next to Matt, leaning up against the headboard. "So Kellin, Alex said you'd been working on a song together? What you play?"
"Oh, um, I sing, I play a little guitar too."
Jack let out a laugh. "That's actually kind of funny because I play and sing, so does Matt."
"Lex does too." Matt added with a nod. "Ohh we could start a band!"
"With four guitars and four singers? Different." Jack raised an eyebrow.
"I-I don't sing to others." I mumbled.
"You should." Kellin gave me a small smile. "You got a good voice."
"See, how I have to hear you!" Matt moaned with a pout, I just shook my head. The only reason Kellin had heard me is because he walked in on me going over a part of the song we where writing while I thought he was in the toilet. "Anyway, Zack's a bassist and Rian drums, so we could be like a four guitar, one bass, one drummer, four singer band...that could be interesting."
"Could be a laugh!" Jack laughed nodding. "So, we have a choice, Gears of War, Halo, Call of Duty or Fifa?"
"Anything but Fifa." Kellin groaned, clearly, he had a dislike for it, I couldn't blame him though, I hated the game too.
"Ok, so Gears, Halo or COD?"
"I vote Gears, I haven't played it in ages, as long at it's the first or Judgement though." Matt smiled.
"Never played it." I shrugged.
"Oh, well it's similar to Halo and COD, same idea, just different, obviously." Matt explained.
"Sounds good." I gave a small nod, looking at my feet with my hands in my hoodie pockets, the same position I'd been in since I sat down. Matt lent his head on my shoulder.
"You ok?" He moved his head, kissing my shoulder.
"Hmm? Yeah." I gave a small nod. In all honestly, I wasn't too sure, I always felt awkward around new people and I'd just started to feel comfortable around Matt and Kellin. I'd never even said hi to Jack before and I didn't have even the slightest idea what to make of him.
"Kellin, you good with Gears?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, I've only played the first, but yeah." He nodded.
"Sweet, Gears it is, I'll put the first one on." Jack smiled, getting up out of his bean bag, switching the xbox on and handing out controllers to everyone.
"So Kellin, what you do? Like for fun, other then sing?" Matt asked lifting his head off my shoulder to look at Kellin.
"Umm, not much, I, uh, just tend to watch TV or draw."
"You draw? Awesome, my art skills are horrific!" Matt chuckled. "Honestly, stick men are about the best it gets."
"Yeah, I'm not that good, but, uh, it's relaxing."
"Not true, I've seen his drawing's their awesome." I looked up at Kellin and gave him a smile.
"Thanks, but they're not." He blushed.
"If you say so." I shrugged.
"Right, we ready?" Jack asked as he loaded up the start screen. "How about, me and Kellin against Matt and Alex?"
"Sounds good, start it up!" Matt nodded and Jack did just that and we started playing, fighting against each other.A/N: Mmmmkay, more of a filler then anything, sorry if it's a bit crappy! xox
