"So, what's it like not living at home anymore?" Jack asked, mouth half full of his sandwich.
"Dude, seriously? Didn't your mom ever tell you not to eat with your mouth full?" Kellin looked disgusted.
"Yeah, that's pretty disgusting." Mr. Carlile laughed.
"Whatever, so?" Jack looked over to me.
"It's uh, taking some adjusting, but living with Kellin is pretty cool, and Kayla and Harry are awesome. I just wish..." I sighed. I loved living with Kayla, Kellin and Harry, I really did, the past few days had been great, but I missed being at home, I missed seeing my mum everyday, I even missed my dad. My dad still hadn't spoken to me, I popped over yesterday, as my mum said she found a few bits of mine and he just...blanked me, like I wasn't even there and it hurt.
"He'll come around Lex." Mr. Carlile gave me a sympathetic smile. "My dad did..."
We all looked at him wide eyed. "Wait, what?" Matt looked stunned.
"Oh didn't I tell you? I'm gay too, well actually, I think I'm more Bi Sexual, I was married until just before I moved here..."
"You where married?!" Kellin practically choked on his drink.
"Yeah, long story short...she cheated. But anyway, I loved her, and you know, I'm attracted to women, but I'm attracted to men too...so yeah." He shrugged. "But you know, since her, I kinda like, avoid women, I had a girlfriend before her and she cheated as well. So yeah, I dunno."
"Wow." I was stunned, Mr. Carlile had never told us any of this before, so it was completely unexpected.
"Now you know a bit more about me."
"How come you've never told us?" Jack asked.
"You never asked." He shrugged.
"Well, you don't exactly go around asking everyone if they've been married or gay do you?" Matt made a good point.
"Ahh yes Matt, but also none of you have ever asked if I have a girlfriend have you? Nor have you asked who I live with...or anything like that."
It was a valid point. "So who do you live with?"
"My friend, Oli, he's from England like you Lex."
"Really? Wait, um...he's not the guy who owns Horzion's music is he?"
"That would be him, why?"
"Oh." I chuckled nervously. "I have an interview with him after school for a job..."
"Oh! Well I'll put in a good word for you."
"No, no, don't, if I get the job I'd like to do it on my own, you know, I kind of want to do this whole being an adult thing right, or try anyway."
"You do know it's ok to ask for help right? Hell my dad got his job because his friend pretty much begged his boss." Matt laughed.
"I know, but you know, I'd like to try on my own first, and then ask for help if I don't get any where."
"Perfectly understandable, and very mature Alex, I won't say a thing." Mr. Carlile smiled.
"Thanks." I gave him a small smile back.
"Nervous?" Kellin asked and I looked at him as if he was stupid, because, well, it was a stupid question, it was my first ever job interview. As comfortable as I was around Kellin, Jack, Matt, Mr. Carlile, Kayla and Harry, new people still sent me back into my shell, into hiding. I'd still clam up, trip over my own words, my mind would go blank, I'd somehow loose the ability to talk...maybe I should have taken Mr. Carlile's offer to put in...no, I had to do it, for me, for Matt.
"You'll be fine baby." Matt kissed my cheek. "He's friends with Austin, so he can't be that bad of a guy, and if he's from England, play off that, get into a normal, easy conversation."
"Matt's right, he's got an English accent so it's obvious, so just say 'hey, you're from England, I was born in England too. Go from there."
"Thanks Austin." My nerves where still running at an All time high though, but maybe if we could have general chit chat before, might make it easier...if I don't loose the abilty to speak altogether beforehand of course.
"You'll do amazing baby, don't worry."
"Yeah, you'll be great." Jack gave me a reassuring smile and Kellin nodded his head in agreement.
"Oh, um, Kayla and Harry won't be in tonight by the way, she just text." Kellin spoke, putting his phone back in his pocket. "And, uh, I'm going to see Vic, he's back for Christmas break already so, uh, we're going to go out."
"That's cool." I gave Kellin a smile. "Say hi to Vic for me."
"You'll see him later, he's staying the night, so you can say hi yourself."
"Oh right, awesome, be good to see him again." I nodded.
"Anyway boys, you got ten minutes left, so if you want to avoid Alan I'd head to class now."
"No chance, next periods with him." I sighed sadly. So far we'd managed to avoid him yesterday, though on Monday's I had no classes with him, and we where getting into school earlier, and Mr. Carlile was giving us passes to get out five minutes early from classes in hope we'd avoid him. We all knew Alan was angry we foiled his big plan to destroy me, and Matt, we'd heard all the whispers in the hall ways. But sadly, Tuesdays meant my last two periods where spent with him, in the same class room, and Kellin only shared the last period with me. So I had Alan, and Shayley, all to myself next, and, well, I was scared.
"He won't be stupid enough to do anything in class Alex, don't worry." Mr. Carlile tried to comfort me.
"Yeah." I nodded as we packed up our things. "Uh, thanks again for letting us eat in here."
"No worries, just let me know if you have any problems ok?" I nodded and we walked out.
"Hang in there man, I'll be there next period." Kellin gave me a bro hug.
"Sure." I gave Kellin a small smile and he headed off towards his class. Thankfully, Matt and Jack had to walk past my next class room to get to there's.
Ohhh Alan's going to killll you! You pissed him off big time! You're going to end up dead! Or, better yet, he's going to get Matt! Ohhh what's he going to do Lex? Let's hope he kills you...the world would be better off without you after all!
I stopped dead in my tracks, no, why now? The voices hadn't made a sound for days now, why now? No, please no.
"Lex?" Jack looked at me worried.
Ohhh what if Alan tell's Matt's parents? Ohhh and what if they stop Matt seeing you like your parents did?
"No..." I whispered, shaking my head.
"Baby? Baby, what's wrong?" Matt grabbed my arms, concern all over his face but I felt myself being trapped into that little black box that left me with no light, no oxygen.
My breathing became short, staggered, I felt sick, my head was spinning. Oh Lex, what if he does to Matt what he did to that kid in his old school? What if Matt isn't as lucky as that kid? What if he dies? Tisk, tisk, Lex, here you go, fucking everything up yet again, your selfish! So selfish! Too busy thinking about what you want to consider the concequenses.
"NO!" I collapsed to the floor, tears streaming from me.
The world would be better off without you. If it wasn't for you, Matt would still have his friends, he'd be smiling, joking, messing around like there wasn't a care in the world. But look what you've put him through Lex, all the pain, the scars he bares...because of you. He may love you now, but one day he'll grow tired and hate you!
"Baby look at me please!" Matt lifted my face to his. "Baby copy my breathing please."
"I-I can't..."
"Baby, please, try. Jack go get Mr. Carlile."
"Right." Jack nodded and ran back towards his office.
"Come on baby, breath in...1, 2, 3 and out, 1, 2, 3...come on baby you can do it." I tried, I tried so hard but my eyes started going blurry, my head span too fast and the next thing I knew, everything went black.

  Matt's POV
"Baby? Baby wake up!" Alex laid limp in my arms, he's never blacked out from an attack before, not that I knew of and I was scared. "Baby please."
"Matt? What happened?" Mr. Carlile ran and practically skidded as he dropped out next to me.
"H-he w-was having an attack...I-I was trying to calm him a-and he just c-collapsed. H-He's never d-done that before." Tears where spilling from me, I couldn't hold them in.
"Alright, it's ok Matt, let me look at him." I nodded and he took him, checking his breathing and pulse as Jack pulled me into his arms.
"He's going to be fine Matt." Jack tried to sooth me.
"We need to get him to the hospital." Mr. Carlile pulled out his keys. "I think he's gone into shock, his breathing's weak."
"No..." I shook my head. "Baby p-please."
"He'll be ok Matt, but we need to get him to the hospital." Mr. Carlile put Alex over his shoulder like he weight nothing while Jack pulled me up.
"Come on, it'll be ok." Jack wrapped his arm around me for support while I sobbed into his shoulder. I wasn't one for praying, but I was praying harder then I ever had before, everything was perfect again and now here we where on the way to the hospital, Alex just laying across me and Jack in the back seat, lifeless. I could barely feel him breathing against me as I held him and his pulse felt weak, I was terrified, I needed him, I couldn't loose him. Could people die from shock? Silly question, I knew they could, I'd heard it happen a few times before, people going into such a bad state of shock, their heart stopped and they couldn't get it started again.
"Jack I'm so scared..."
"He'll be ok Matt."
"Ok, we're here, come on." Mr. Carlile darted out of the car, opening my passenger door.

Soon as we walked in, Alex was taken and we where forced to wait in the waiting room. I was going out of my mind while Jack and Mr. Carlile tried to comfort me. It didn't help though, the only thing that would be would be knowing my baby was going to be ok.
"Matt? Jack? Mr. Carlile?" Our heads turned and saw Alex's mom standing there. "What happened?"
Jack explained what happened, I couldn't speak right now, I just stayed curled up on my seat, knee's to my chest, crying into my hands.
"Has this ever happened before?" Mr. Carlile looked to Isobel.
"No..." She shook her head, tears pooling in her eyes. "It's never been this bad. W-What made him...?"
"We don't know...we think it's Alan." Jack voice was laced with anger.
"Alan? Ashby?"
"Yeah." Jack nodded.
"I-I thought h-he stopped? T-That's why Peter went to speak to his f-father?"
"Sadly, it made things worse Mrs. Gaskarth." Mr. Carlile sighed. "He set out to destroy Alex and Matt for good. But his plan failed, so now, he's angry."
"There's been whispers all around the school, how Alan and his friends are going to 'make them pay' and 'wish Alex had never come to school'. W-we where avoiding him, Mr. Carlile was helping, but Alex had a class, alone with him, without Kellin a-and with everything that's happened, i-it could have been too much."
"Oh my baby." Isobel's hands went over her mouth. "Mr. Carlile is there anything you can do?"
"I'm working on it, the obvious option is haul his parents in, but we can sort Alan out, but...that still leaves Shayley, Tony and Mike. Shayley goes from foster home to foster home so, that's pointless, Tony's parents are never around and couldn't care less and Mike, well, his parent's wouldn't believe a word unless we had hard evidence, photo's, video's, so on."
"H-How do you know all this?" Jack looked at Mr. Carlile confused.
"Jack, I'm the guidance councillor, it's my job to know all this. I have spoken to them each individually before, try and work out why they are doing this, these four aren't their only victims sadly, but they're the main targets. I thought I could help them but they wouldn't show up to any sessions, they wouldn't talk to me, nothing. So, while we can eliminate the group leader, Alan, there's still those three. And from what I've been told, before Alan came along, Shayley was ring leader, so it's not a simple case of take out the leader and the rest will fall..."
"This is so wrong. He used to be such a sweet kid." Isobel cried. "They where best friends, joined at the hip...now this."
"I-I don't know Mrs. Gaskarth, but I'm trying, I promise, I'll find away to make this stop."
"W-What if they all moved schools?"
"I've already thought that, but, I've spoken to the guidance counsellor of the nearest school and, well, they have the same problem with another group of kids."
"This is horrible. How could people do this." Isobel put her face in her hands.
"I will stop this, I promise." Mr. Carlile reached over and put his hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"Oh Matt..." She breathed, moving to sit next to me, pulling me into her arms. "He'll be ok, he's a fighter."
"I-I can't l-loose him." I sobbed.
"I know love, and I'm so sorry about everything before, I can see how much you love Alex. He'll be ok." She held me tighter.
"We're here!" Kellin arrived, Vic behind him. "Is he ok?"
"We don't know." Jack sighed sadly.
"Gaskarth?" A doctor walked in and we all came to attention, looking at him.
"Yes?" Isobel spoke, hope in her voice that her son, my baby would be ok.
