We kept walking for what felt like forever, and it was past nightfall before we set up camp. We both fell asleep and got up the next morning, bright and early. We immediately began walking in hopes to find the other as soon as possible.
We eventually came to another somewhat abandoned city. There were a lot of sick looking people wandering around, in the alleys and the streets. "Come on, we're almost there," Brenda said as we continued walking through the streets.
We tried our best to blend in, since we didn't need anyone stopping us to ask questions. She led to a building and pointed to it. "That's it, That's Marcus' place." I nodded and we began walking to the door.
It was a tall building with lots of windows, and you could hear very loud music blasting from inside. There was a small line of people at the front door, maybe four or five.
There was a man standing at the door talking to the first girl in the line. We glanced at each other before nodding and going to the end of the line.We only had to wait a few seconds, the line was very short and went by pretty fast. When it was our turn to go inside, the man stopped us just like he had stopped the others.
"Hello, ladies," he greeted, a sick smile on his face. Honestly, he kind of creeped me out. "I haven't seen you before... you must be new," he said. We didn't answer."One sip to get in," he said, handing us a metal flask. Brenda hesitantly reached out and took it, I looked over at her like she was insane.
Yeah, let's drink from the flask the strange creepy man gave us, brilliant idea! She sighed and took a small sip before handing it to me. I gave her an incredulous look, obviously not going to be drinking the strange liquid. "Come on, little lady," the man said impatiently.
Brenda gave me a stern look and I took the flask with a huff. I hesitantly raised it to my lips, when the man reached forward and raised the bottom of the flask, sending way more that one sip down my throat. The liquid burned, and it wasn't any kind of good burn. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and I almost choked on it. The man took his flask back with a triumphant smile. "Have fun," he said creepily, pulling back the curtain being used as a front door.
Brenda and I walked through the doorway and looked at each other. "Let's split up, don't drink anything else," she said before turning and pushing through the crowd.I sighed and walked in the other direction, pushing through the sea of dancing people in search for my friends.
I searched for a few minutes, my eyes scanning every face in my line of sight, but I didn't see any of my fellow Gladers or Jorge. Speaking of Jorge, I had completely lost track of Brenda, and I was starting to get a bit anxious.
"Hey there," a voice said from behind me. I turned and saw a man looking down at me. He was way taller than I was, about Frypan's height. He had dirty brown hair and dark green eyes. He looked pale, but I couldn't completely tell behind the dirt on his face. "Um, h-hi," I said nervously, unsure of what to do. "You lost, darling?" He asked, leaning down a little and stepping closer.
"I'm just looking for someone..." I said, moving back a little. "I can be whoever it is your looking for," he said with a smirk, stepping forward again."Th-that's okay, I actually need to go.." I said as I started stepping backwards, pushing further into the crowd.
My vision was getting a little blurry and my head began pounding. "No!" He yelled, suddenly angry. He stepped forward again, and I backed away in fear. "P-please..." was all I managed to say before I ran straight into a hard surface and fell to the floor, unconscious.-
I opened my eyes and immediately shut them again, feeling a pounding headache, especially in my temples. I groaned slightly and reached up to grab my head.
I heard voices around me, and I felt another hand on my forehead. I opened my eyes to see Newt looking down at me worriedly."Newt?" I asked, sitting up groggily. He smiled a little bit and nodded. "Hey Y/n," he said softly. I looked around the room and saw that all of the gladers were here, plus Jorge and Brenda... and some other guy tied to a chair.
Chuck was sitting on my left, holding my hand gently. I smiled at him and squeezed his hand. I was sitting on a small couch in a big room. Minho came walking over with a dumb grin, Thomas right behind him.
"Morning Princess," Minho teased. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah yeah, whatever," I responded."Nice to see you're awake," Thomas said as he and Minho sat in the chairs next to the small couch I was on. "Yeah yeah sure... who is that?" I asked, glancing at the man tied to the chair. Jorge seemed to be interrogating him, using lots of... force.
"That's Marcus," Chuck clarified. I nodded and looked over at Brenda. She gave me a small smile and walked over to Jorge and Marcus.
Frypan came and sat with us and before long, all of the gladers were sitting with us.I looked over at the bloodied and bruised face of the man tied to the chair, Marcus. Jorge had a small smile on his face, so I assumed Marcus had finally given him some useful information.
Jorge grabbed the back of the chair and leaned forward, a smirk on his face as he looked at Marcus dead in the eyes. He said something to him and Marcus' face dropped. He said something with almost pleading eyes while Jorge just smiled triumphantly at him, inches away from his face. Then Jorge released the chair and looked over at us with a smile, giving us a small nod before turning and saying something to Brenda.
The next thing I know, we're in some kind of car that gave off big military vibes. Newt was sitting in the front passenger seat, while Jorge was driving. The rest of us packed ourselves into the back. We didn't have quite enough seats, so Teresa had to sit in Finnick's lap.I had to sit on Minho'a lap, which gave me the best view of the death stare Thomas was giving Finnick. I could- quite literally- feel the jealousy radiating off of him in waves. It must be our little connection. I wondered if Teresa could feel it too, but probably not. Only Thomas and I can feel the "love struck" thing.
I reached over and punched his arm lightly. 'Calm down, tiger,' I thought to him. He sighed and looked back at Finnick with a small frown. I rolled my eyes and smiled, looking out the window.
"You alright there, princess?" Minho asked teasingly. I nodded. "Someone's a bit jealous," I whispered to him, pointing discreetly between Thomas and Finnick.Minho snickered. "That shank needs to snap out of it." I nodded and returned my attention to the sandy roadside on the other side of the window.
Minho's P.O.V.
It's really shucking funny, honestly. Thomas is being a jealous shank, glaring daggers at Finnick... but she doesn't see the other jealous shank in the car. I snickered and looked back at her before looking up to the front seat, where Newt was "sneakily" looking back at us through the side mirror.
"That shank needs to snap out of it," I said, looking at Newt. She nodded in agreement, looking over at Thomas for a second before turning and looking back out the window. My only question is, who is that slinthead jealous of exactly? She's sitting in my lap, but she's been focusing on Thomas for a good few minutes... whatever. That shank will get over it.
Thomas' P.O.V.
I hate him I hate him I hate him I hate him I-
'Oh my god, shut up shank!' I heard a voice cut off my thoughts. Shuck, I must've accidentally sent my thoughts to Y/n.
'Sorry, didn't mean to,' I sent back, glancing over at her for a second. She gave me a small glare and sighed. 'Just chill, Thomas.' I sighed and nodded slightly before looking back at them.I hate him.
