Chapter 30

The Confession

"My mom died when I was 7 years old," I said, I felt him stiffened. 

"you don't have to tell me, don't force yourself--"

"I want you to know me, Grey. We had plenty of times together but we haven't really known each other" I looked away, avoiding his gaze.

"When I was a child, they said I did something reckless but they never mention the whole story. I just remembered being in a hospital, not remembering what happened because I'm traumatized." 

"Gab--"

I shut him up. "No, please let me tell you this..." 

When he saw the desperation in my eyes, he sighed and locked me into his arms. 

"Alright, I'll listen. please stop trembling" he whispered. Doon ko palang napansin ang panginginig ko ng kamay na hinahawakan niya't pinapakalma.

"They said my mom was...was stabbed in her stomach and did not s...survive. I just woke up one day in a hospital then visit a funeral right away" I said and let out a faint chuckled. 

Grey's hug tightened even more and it makes me relax and composed myself. Parang doon ako kumukuha ng lakas para magpatuloy. 

I felt my eyes are on the verge of crying but I'm stopping myself because I don't want Grey to be worried. I want to tell him my story whatever happens, kung malalaman at malalaman rin naman niya balang araw ay gusto ko ng madaliin at gusto ko sa akin manggaling at hindi sa iba. 

If he's gonna hate me after this, then so be it. I may not be ready but I will try. 

"My father was so mad, he never visits me in a hospital to check on me. I'm still young and naive back then, Hindi ko alam..." I chuckled smugly, reminiscing that day when only our Nanay Liz is there for me.

"It's not your fault..."

I shooked my head. "It is, namatay ang nanay ko nang dahil sa akin. Kasalanan ko! Hindi ko man maalala kung anong nangyari pero kasalanan ko Grey!" 

I cried. "Sshh...stop"
