My 5 year old little sister just whispered my name over and over until I looked at her, and then she just straight up said, "I want attention." I don't own Marvel.
This was a request by @padoodlekotlcpjo. I can't tell you how long it took me to find that, because I kept getting distracted and forgetting what I was looking for in the first place. Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: embarrassment.
"Are you sure? It seems kind of early..."
"Don't worry. I have a note to give to the office. Just pick him up."
"Okay."
---
Peter Parker was counting down the minutes until lunch. He hadn't eaten breakfast today, and he was practically starving. That wasn't an exaggeration either. What with his insane metabolism, skipping one meal could put him on the verge of passing out in a matter of mere hours.
When the bell finally rung for his lunch period, Peter practically sprinted out of the room and into the cafeteria. Ned plopped down at the table a little later, watching Peter devour his food in a sort of horrid fascination.
"That's disgusting, man."
Peter ignored him. He finished his food in a matter of minutes, and started eying Ned's apple. Being the good friend he was-and also because he hated apples, but his mom kept packing them even though she knew he hated them because they were good for him-Ned handed it over to Peter.
Peter devoured that too.
"PARKER!" A vaguely familiar voice shouted.
---
The Guardians of the Galaxy had barely touched down on Earth when Loki informed them that Peter Parker was need urgently, and no one else was free to pick him up. They had received a note signed by Peter's Aunt May to excuse him from school, and were now in the principal's office to pick up the teen.
"And then a left. You can't miss it. They cafeteria will be right in front of you." The principal said kindly. "Once you have him, feel free to leave. I would call over the PA, but no one will hear it during lunch."
"Thank you!" Peter Quill said. Being the only one who was born on Earth, he took care of most human interaction. Even though he wasn't very good at them himself.
The Guardians followed the principal's directions and ended up at the cafeteria.
"Where is he, though?" Gamora grumbled.
Peter shrugged. Mantis was busy examining the lunch tray, and Drax was once again pretending to be invisible.
Rocket rolled his eyes. "Here. PARKER!"
---
Peter turned towards the shout as the entire cafeteria quieted down. There, in the middle of the entrance to the cafeteria, stood the Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter momentarily noted that this was probably the day he died of embarrassment, but then politely responded.
"What's up? Why are you here?"
"Oh, no 'Hi, other Peter! How has your day been? Was your trip to Earth good?' Just questioning why I'm here, huh?" Quill smiled as he teased the younger Peter.
Peter rolled his eyes, somehow forgetting there were other students there. "Seriously though, why are you here?"
Gamora steppes forwards. "Loki sent us. You are need urgently, he said."
Peter frowned. "Okay, let me just pack my stuff."
The teen turned and started shoving textbooks and notebooks into his backpack. He had taken them out after eating to study.
In the meantime, Mantis turned to a random student and put her hand on their shoulder. "You are very anxious and stressed! Please, calm down."
The student leaned away nervously, gently pulling her shoulder from the alien's grasp. Mantis shrugged and turned to another student.
"Oh! You are the same, but much sadder. Is this common in high-school students?"
The boy she was touching snorted, and his friend across the table responded. "Pretty much."
Mantis thought for a moment and said, "Then humans should get rid of high-school. It is not healthy."
Several students around her laughed and agreed.
Drax, on the other hand, slowly reached over and took a cookie from a student's tray during this time.
"Hey!" The girl exclaimed, pulling it back.
"How did you see me?" Drax asked. "I was moving so slowly I should not have been visible to your eyes."
The student just rolled her eyes and shoved the cookie in her mouth before he could steal it again.
Rocket had stolen 3 laptops and 17 phones in this time, but was stopped by Groot, who returned all the technology to their owners.
Finally, Peter was packed and the Guardians left a confused cafeteria behind them.
---
Peter wouldn't know until he reached the tower, but was not actually needed at all. Loki has simply wanted the Guardians to embarrass him. (And though he would never admit it, Loki always took any chance he could to see the teenage genius.)
The End.
Hope you enjoyed!
Bye!
