This is a sad one. You know what else is sad? Me not owning Marvel. I also don't own this song, so the lyrics aren't mine.
This was a request by @RyokoShaNamikaze, hope you enjoy!
Warnings: mentions of suicide, depression, abuse, bad May. Also, I changed the song a bit to fit, so I'm not always directly quoting lyrics.
Peter walked up to the rooftop of one of the highest buildings in Queens. Just as he was about to take his shoes off, he noticed a boy with curly brown hair crying as he looked down to the streets below.
"Hey! Don't do it, please." Peter called. He didn't know why. After all, isn't that exactly what he came here to do?
The boy turned to him and said, "You've probably heard it all before. I thought she was the one, but then she told me she was done."
Peter was annoyed. He couldn't believe this boy got here first. "Are you upset cause you can't have what you wanted? You're lucky that you've never gotten robbed of anything." He thought about Gwen and his parents and Ben, who had all died, and it was all his fault. So what if MJ didn't like him, he's had worse. This boy needs to understand that rejection isn't the end of the world. Peter's been rejected and robbed of a family.
"I'm feeling better. Thank you for listening!" The boy said. He disappeared as if he was never there.
Peter left. He couldn't do it today.
---
The next day, as he was about to take his shoes off, another boy was on the rooftop, this time with big, sad, brown eyes.
"Everyone ignores me, everyone steals. I don't fit in with anyone here." The boy said.
"Even so, you are still loved by everyone at home! There's always dinner waiting on the table, you know?" Peter growled. Flash steals from him, and he doesn't fit in, but he's had worse. May doesn't have enough money to get food on the table all the time, and he ends up going to bed hungry.
"I'm hungry," The boy said as he disappeared.
Peter sighed. He couldn't do it today either.
---
Peter came back to the rooftop everyday, and everyday there was another boy waiting. He listened to them, and knew he had it worse. No matter what the boy on the roof had been through, he had Peter to listen to him. Peter had no one.
---
One day, as he was on the roof, a boy in a yellow jacket turned to him. "I just want to stop the scars that grow every time I go home. That's why I came up here instead."
Peter didn't know what to say. For once, he didn't have it worse. He had it the same. Ever since Ben, May had grown slowly more violent and depressed. "Hey, don't do it please." He said softly, not sure what to say. He didn't think he could save this boy.
"I guess today is just not my day." Yeh boy said said and looked away from Peter. Then, he disappeared as everyone else had.
---
The next day, there was no one waiting on the rooftop. Peter took off his shoes and thought, "I guess it's time. It's just me, myself, and I. There's no one who can interfere, no one to get in my way here."
And so Peter, a boy with curly brown hair; big, sad, brown eyes; and a yellow jacket, took one look back, jumped, and was free.
Ahhhhh. I'm crying. Hope you enjoyed, @RyokoShaNamikaze.
Bye!
