Chapter 30: Fake Protagonist

IN HER POSITION, Ashley positioned herself. Her backpack already clutched around her back, her both arms steady and start playing the song of Inquiry. She noticed a sudden change when playing the melody, a mysterious bluish cloud spread all around her, she felt a sudden tremble in her own body and keep playing to ease this nervous feeling.

After playing the actual song, she mix the melody of "WangXian" that melody is called where Lan Wangji played it personally for Wei WuXian. She never knew it will work somehow, but to her surprise, it was. She keep playing until her head became heavy as if her own soul bringing itself to another time and dimension. It's been a while she deeply thought.

Out of a blue, she keep closing her eyes until she feel the smell of her environment is not in South Korea anymore. Her excitement grew when she smell the sandalwood all around, she assumed that the Song of Inquiry take her to the Cloud Recesses where it all began. She stretch a soft smile and felt the intense heaviness, thus, it's been a while, and she suddenly fall unconscious.

Ashley...Ashley....Ashley... she heard this voice once again, her eyes slowly opened and realized she is laying down in a bed. Shiya! She screamed in her head, Ashley get up and saw ZeWu Jun and other in front of her. And to her surprise, she even saw...

...Wei WuXian...

Out of nowhere, her heart clutched and tears began to flow in her eyes. She cannot believe that somehow...her plan worked. "Ashley...I cannot believe that you're back...and wearing...odd garments." ZeWu Jun replied as she realized of her appearance.

She stood and suddenly embraced ZeWu Jun, he felt a sudden blush in his cheeks. Wei WuXian, wearing a mask, chuckled deeply. Ashley let out and exclaim, "Shiya! I-I never knew it worked...me...I don't know what to say..." she replied.

"Well, you have a lot to explain now you're here." Lan Jingyi replied.

Ashley brush off the tears that continuously flowing in her both eyes, Wei WuXian walk closer to her and observe her features, "Hmm, Well that is how the future me looks like...tell me, do you have many pursuers?"

Ashley chuckled, "HAHAHA in your dreams." She pat his shoulder.

ZeWu Jun spoke, "Since she is here, SiZhui, please prepare her bath...Ashley, you need to change your garment as respect that you're here in this era. Your things will be safely hidden in the forbidden library."

"Also, after your bath, you had a lot of explaining to do." He added. Ashley stretch a soft smile, "Okie dokie, Mister." Wei WuXian chuckled and she does as well.

"Hahaha no wonder, we still have similarities." He commented,

Ashley replied, "HAHAHA the difference was, I am not poor, unlike you!" she tease him by pulling her tongue, Wei WuXian chuckled and replied, "Well played...very well played."

"Well, let's leave her for a while...she needs to rest." Lan Wangji spoke as Ashley stared at him. She could see the hurt expression in his face.

"Eh, then I shall go and bath inside the Jingshi." Wei WuXian said as Lan Wangji nod. He left the room with ZeWu Jun while Lan Wangji and Ashley are left behind.

Ashley, "Lan Wangji, I...sorry, If I leave...without saying the real reason..."

"I already knew." He replied.

"Y-You do? ZeWu Jun...told you?" she asked.

Lan Wangji, "He did..."

"Why you didn't tell us? Why do you need to handle this yourself?" He suddenly asked.
