Chapter 47: Inquiry

WEI WUXIAN AGGRESSIVELY OPEN Ashley's stuff, where all he finds is cup noodles - thanks to Ashley who taught her some glimpses from the future, and clothes which he doesn't bother to see it anyway. Inside of Ashley's room, Wen Ning, Lan SiZhui and Jingyi alongside with Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng are the only ones inside in the room.

"This is useless..." Wei WuXian commented, it seems finding some answers in her stuff is no use. Lan Wangji scan Ashley's stuff until he notice a book beside of a weird purse. He kneel down as he reach to get the book, then stared back at Wei WuXian, "Wei Ying..." he called.

Wei WuXian stared at him, "Hmm what do you find?" he asked and notice the book in his grasp. He stretch a soft smile, "Thank you Lan Zhan!" he added much to Lan Wangji's inner self - his heart soften whenever he called his name...like a memory that has happened 16 years ago.

As he flip the pages, Wei WuXian became dumbfounded. The handwriting is organized, simple yet elegant, What the hell?! She is the opposite of me! My calligraphy sucks...but...i can't understand her writing... he thought deeply.

"Err...Lan Zhan..." he called, "Do you have a spell that can understand what she is writing? I can't understand this at all..." he added.

Lan Wangji stared at him, "I can read it for you..." he replied. Wei WuXian's interest piqued, "Eh?! Wow! Besides having a good calligraphy, intelligence and aloof nature...what are you good at?" he mischievously asked.

"S-Shameless..." Lan Wangji replied, Wei WuXian chuckled and gave him the book which he start flipping the pages.

The book they discovered from one of Ashley's stuff is her journal. Lan Wangji easily recognize it for he wrote journals as well...added to that it was one of his doing during Wei WuXian's death 16 years ago.

While venturing the pages, he realized that Ashley wrote her experiences about her venture in this era, added to that, she also wrote her discoveries related to the song of inquiry.

Lan Wangji realized something, "Wei Ying, this book is her journal. She wrote her experiences including the song of inquiry." he spoke.

"Eh?! What about it?" Wei WuXian asked.

Lan Wangji showed them a page from her journal, where Ashley drew what it seemed a mind map about the song. He let out a deep sigh, "Ashley spend 6 years investigating the song...I believe she isn't aware of the truth about herself." he replied.

"I always wondered why Xue Yang mentioned Mo XuanYu...the first time I open my eyes in this world, I notice Mo Xuanyu's spiritual body is never cultivated properly...that is my first assumption..." Wei WuXian commented, "But now I get what he meant...Ashley is not my reincarnated self...but cursed, I felt pity towards her..." he added.

Lan Wangji nodded, he silently pity Ashley...for the past 6 years, she believe that somehow she can be what people think of her...

but the lesson in this chapter is that, no one else chose a path but yourself...

As Lan Wangji venture the pages, he found an interesting part from her journal, "Wei Ying...look." he called. Wei WuXian gaze at him, in the page it was a sketch of a temple.

Wei WuXian deduct the drawing, hmmm this temple is so familiar to me...no wonder why my gut feels this weird butterflies in my stomach...He thought before he realized what it was.

"I-I knew it! This is weird..." he replied, "This temple...is like the one in Yiling!" he added.

Lan SiZhui observe the sketch, "Yeah! your correct Wei gonzi! That is the Guanyin temple, I heard that it was built a year ago..." he replied.
